**Dear life, please be gentle with me** Ezra POV"Move it," The guard shouted. We all had chains on our hands and legs as we walked, the chains were heavy but the guards paid no mind to it. The guard whipped the person in front of me."Move it you fool" he shouted angrily and whipped the man again. The man fell to the ground and the guard kicked him and he groaned. "Stand up or you will be punished!" The guard ordered."I am tired." The man said weakly, which made the guard more angry and he kicked him again."What's the hold up Luke? " asked another guard."The fool says he's tired." He replied."Please water,"The injured slave said."Is that so?" Luke said ,as he drew his sword and struck the man he died. Everyone gasped in fear. I stepped back involuntarily and fell. "Are you also tired?" Luke asked me. I shook my head."Then get up, " he shouted . I stood up immediately and my legs were shaking. Some men removed the chains of the deceased man and threw his body aside. T

Chris POV:When we got to the mansion. "Bring the girl" I ordered and she was bought in front of me. Her eyes were glued to the floor. She looked too dirty and tattered."Of what use will you be to me?" I asked."I work in the farm ,barn or stables anywhere, master." she replied. Hump."That's the type of life you live and you still want it?" I asked "I.....didn't choose it but I won't run away from it, I just.... I don't want to die" she answered. She was trying to be brave but her hands and legs were shaking.I like her spirit, she reminds me of my younger self but I won't tell her that ."Take her to the stables." I ordered."Yes master." "Thank you master" she said and exhaled. I went into the mansion while she was taken away.**Ezra POV: The guard showed me where the other slaves were,so I went in and sat down. "Hello, I am Gina." A girl walked up to me and sat beside me."I am Ezra." I introduced myself." Nice to meet you, Ezra," she smiled."Do we sleep here?"I ask

Chapter 3: The master's decision.

A week later.Ezra's POV: I got called to the master's study. Fred and I came in, and the master was busy with paperwork." Master, she is here," Fred said."You can do what I asked you to do," the master said to Fred. Fred bought out a key and came close to me and unlocked the chain around my neck. I was speechless with the chain removed, which means I was no longer a slave."You will become a servant from now on and you shall be paid, you have your freedom back,if you wish to you provisions will be made for you the kid you said is the only heir of his family." Master Chris said as he flipped through the papier work,he wasn't looking at me. Silence filled the room ,because I was speechless. He finally looked at me ."Are you not satisfied with it?" he asked."I...I am just speechless thank you Master." I stammered."Hmm"was his only reply to me."Ask the head maid to tutor her on how to behave, you can leave." Master Chris said . Fred took me to the head maid ."She is the ne

Chapter 4:The first time I served the master.

Ezra's POV:Gloria taught me how to clean the mansion, and how to act in the mansion and in the evening I went to see Gina and the rest of the slaves they were happy for me that I was no longer a slave and after spending a lot of time with them I retired to bed,I was so tired but I was happy as well I hope things get better for me,I want a bright future one that is full of happiness and no pain or sadness or death ,I just wanted to be happy ,I guess this is a good start. For two weeks Gloria taught me how to clean the mansion. I was a quick learner and so I got better at it that I didn't need assistance anymore and I did it alone.I was proud of myself for being this quick in grasping all she taught me. Gloria has been so helpful to me since I met her. She is also sweet and kind, unlike some people I have had an encounter with. She doesn't judge and treats me with respect. She taught me so well that I learned everything fast, she paid attention to every detail and corrected me nicely

Chapter 5: the dirty maid.

Chris's POV(The master) :I was reading a book in the dinning, waiting for breakfast while Stephen, my best friend, talked non stop. He is a parrot, I am not surprised, he talks more than a woman. I wonder why he left his home so early in the morning to come and bother me.I don't know what I did to him. I am sure his house is as comfortable as here,or he might be running away from his father. He must have gotten into trouble again for his ways. The only thing he has been talking about is women and I was tempted to call Fred and tell him to show him the way out. He's stressing me out this morning with stories about his adventures with women that I don't want to hear about. I told him to stop but he refused and continued talking. The doors opened and three maids walked in trays in their hands bringing breakfast. Thank goodness at least he will shut up now. He always likes to look good and well reserved in front of women but when he's with me ,he opens his m

Chapter 6: Ezra's new look.

Ezra's POV: Working and making a living staying here is the best option for now and I have Gina and Gloria and the rest of the slaves nothing can go wrong at this point. I just wanted to stay here. I have made friends already. The connection I had with the slaves is not one that I want to let go of so easily, they reminded me of my family. Our bond was what kept us together despite everything ,and seeing that bond here made me get attached. I was told the master doesn't take bed mates and he doesn't give out any if His slaves or servants, that calmed me down so I am on a safe side. I will make him speechless the next time he sees me.*** A week later the master and some soldiers left for war over a boundary issue. The mansion was filled with life. I was told that whenever the master left everyone would suddenly become livelier. Did they hate his presence? They returned two weeks later victorious. There was a celebration as he had chased the bandits away and k

Chapter 7: the beauty

Chris's POV: Our eyes met and she looked away. Why was she staring at me in the first place? This girl doesn't listen one bit, she's trying to give me an excuse to punish her which I will gladly do. Should I punish her? What evidence do I have that she was actually looking at me? Do I now need evidence to punish someone? What am I even thinking about? The only thing in my mind is how to punish people, I really have a problem. "She looks beautiful chris'' Stephen said. As if he was the only one seeing her. Everyone looks lovely and beautiful to Stephen. I won't be surprised if he tells me he's marrying a pimp one day because he likes them a lot ."Who?'' I asked . "That maid??" he said and pointed at her. He is saying Ezra is beautiful ,but he didn't see her beauty when she was dirty and ugly, am sure he was disgusted but now she's pretty ,men are unbelievable. Sometimes a pretty face is the only thing they look at when looking at a woman."Oh "I replied."Is

Chapter 8: The second Time I served the master.

Ezra's POV: It's been a week since the party. The maids were jealous of my beauty,I was always pretty but I didn't know I was this pretty,Gloria told me so,why were they jealous, when they were the ones that always called me ugly. Gina shouted on top of her voice when she saw me,the other slaves were surprised and happy as well,I changed totally and I know I changed for good,I was happy with the way I was being more noticed now. Gloria was teaching me how to cook. Cooking is the main thing a Lady should know. Delicious food keeps your man at home, that's what she said to me." Move " A maid said and shoved me. "Watch it Naomi,we are in the kitchen. Do you want her to get hurt?" Gloria shouted at Naomi. "That's none of your business Gloria, what are you, her mum?" she sneered at her. Why did she have to bring my mum into a conversation that doesn't concern her. "Why are you bringing my mum into this?" I asked. "Oh so you can talk back at me ?" Naomi asked me a

Chapter 9: The punishment and his smile.

Chris POV:She froze when I told her to stop. The nerve of this girl. "Kneel" I said and she did that immediately. I took a history book. It has a lot of layers and I walked towards her."Raise your hands" I told her,she did and I placed the heavy book on her arms."Hold that well if it Falls before I tell you to drop it you will be whipped" I said and I saw her shiver. I went to the table and ate my breakfast. I asked Fred to call a maid to clean up.A maid came in and greeted me. When she saw Ezra kneeling she smiled and took the tray and left, does she grave enemies already when she hasn't stayed here for that long. Well that's not my business, she's a maid and am a master. It's not my concern. I have other pressing issues,I sighed as I stared at the paperwork in front of me ,why do I have to do this? I don't like doing it but I had no choice in it so I started my paperwork. This is going to be a long day ,doing paperwork was so stressful to me.**Ezra's POV :I remain

Chapter 10: the flirt.

Ezra's POV:After the day's work,we were paid because it was a new month.I was so happy that I got my pay. Having money in my hand made me happy. I have been paid for six months, but I have never left the house before, since the maids are always busy and no one was allowed to leave the mansion unless the head maid allowed it,and getting permission from her was something no one has ever achieved. Gloria gave me her dress to wear so that I could follow her to the market to get some stuff for her family. I was more than glad to go with her.Half of the maids were given a week off,the first set of maids had already gone for their vacation so it was our turn. The shirtdress was short, but it gave me the look I wanted. It looked lovely on me; it was as if the dress was meant for me. I stared at myself in the mirror in disbelief. Am I staring at someone else or was this really me? I looked....Beautiful. " Wow Ezra you have a killer shape it looks so... lovely on you" Glor
