“What did you just say Enzo?” Mr. Leonard asked. He was the first to break the awkward silence after Enzo announced his wedding.“Do I need to repeat myself? He said, raising his eyebrows. Okay, I am getting married” Enzo declared in a firm tone.“Just what the actual fuck is happening in this house” Loyd added as he walked towards the small bar area close to the dinning, he needed a drink to clear his head.“Who is she?” Mr. Leonard asked.“Who is she and where is she from? It is nobody's business, I'm telling you all now as my family, so have it at the back of your mind” Enzo replied. One of Enzo's characteristics is that he is calm and cool-headed but at the same time he was dangerous, he was not one to argue and was slow to anger unlike Loyd.“I won't let you marry some lowlife, that decision will not hold” Leonard countered.“Of course” Loyd scoffed, downing the entire glass of whiskey at once.Megan stood up from her seat as she walked towards Loyd, grabbing the bottle from him

“Bailey”, Megan exclaimed. Bailey was literally looking at her like someone who has been possessed. Although she was pointing at a big black box on the table which was not there before.“It's morning already sleepy, head, but that isn't even important because someone just showed up at my door presenting this magnificent box containing a dress, shoes, and jewelry from the most prestigious fashion company in New York”. Bailey declared with widened eyes and increased breath.“Do you have a man, Megan? Don't tell me you are seeing someone behind my back”. She barked.Megan, who was still confused, blinked her fan like eyelashes fiercely. “Clothes… what clothes”.“Oh, Megan, are you still acting oblivious?," she scoffed. “Well a fine man, well-dressed and charming, came here just now with a big box which obviously contained these clothes, together with designer shoes and jewelry from the…. She paused, trying to recollect the name of the designer brand.“Gold's group”. She echoed as if she

“For a moment I almost thought you were Brittany, as you both look oddly familiar”. Jasmine's voice echoed, she was dressed in a glamorous silk like gown that glowed like the way the stars glowed in the night sky.“Excuse me”, Megan didn't quite understand the reason her step-sister's name was mentioned. Brittany wasn't exactly her step or half sister, they had no relationship and were only brought together because her father had married her mother.Other than that they were not related by blood. And to even think of it, she never had an encounter with Brittany, but her name appears to be significant in her life.“I just hate the fact that you look so much like Brittany. I don't like you for my brother”. She whispered.Megan looked at her with a smile. “What is your name?”“Jasmine”.“Listen Jasmine I never said I had anything to do with your brother, I am only here for Shayna, she invited me here”.“Really, she scoffed. You might not have anything to do with my brother, but when I se

“Listen Megan, I know you are angry with me, and I understand that my behaviour may come up strange, and I am sorry” Alex started.Megan was stunned, she was still processing all of Alex's actions throughout the day, he had been acting like a proper gentleman like he did in France when he showed up in front of her door with flowers and chocolates.“You have been a jerk towards me, Alex, what changed all of a sudden?” Megan asked.“Megan, trust me when I say I am truly sorry, I lose control whenever someone brings up my past, especially Brittany. That was what happened on that day, I know I should have given you an explanation, but I was just angry” Alex stated, accepting his faults and wrongdoings while staring into Megan's eyes. The car was filled with tension as Megan battled internally about what she would do next. She felt conflicted and was overwhelmed emotionally. Different emotions coursed through her body, Megan was angry and hurt. She was also confused, was Alex playing towar

Chapter 39"Loyd, I will be there in half an hour, please wait for me," Megan said over the phone."What's the problem Megan? Why did Loyd call?" Bailey asked."I have to go now, Loyd needs me" Megan replied. as she stood up from the bed walking towards Bailey's closet."What's the matter Megan?" Bailey asked, confusion written all over her face."I really can't say Bailey, I just have to go home right now " Megan replied, she opened up a mini bag as she threw her clothes inside.A forlorn look of worry could be seen on Megan's face as she closed her bag, she sat on the bed trying to fix her shoes in a rush."Do I come with you?" Bailed asked softly..she knew Megan wasn't one to play with her family especially Loyd, if Loyd had called her, it was definitely something serious."No Bailey, there is no need for that, you have done enough for me and I really appreciate it. I already ordered a ride, it will be here very soon,"Megan replied."Okay, but did he say what the problem was?" Bail
