XAVIERAHave we met?NO! I turned away from his gaze, focusing on what was on my plate, unable to remember what it was I was actually eating. I twirled my fork in my plate, picking at the veggies in them. “Please, join us” His mother beckoned, her face beaming with affection. “Oh, sorry to interrupt. I didn't know it was a women's meeting” He declined subtly. “Nonsense!” Marilyn waved the air, “Come sit with us, we are glad to have you here.” She said. From my slightly lowered gaze, I watched him going over to the seat that was set for him, directly opposite mine, and in-between his mother, and Marilyn who was beaming as though she'd finally seen Santa Claus. Majority of younger eyes were curiously trained on his physique in unabashed appraisal. I swear I heard several wishful sighs, and caught several dreamy looks, especially from the woman who sat beside me. “He's so hot. Isn't he?” Leesa whispered into my ears. I turned to her. “Snap out of it!” She looked away, to him and th

XAVIERA I found myself in the forest. Tall trees with dark green leaves, rich leaves, swaying under the merciless assault of the cold wind. I strolled through the intimidating bodies of wood, leaves and hooting owls, unsure of what I was searching for, or where I was going. Far ahead, there was a river, and even from this distance, I could tell it was still, and glistening. I headed towards the river, through the troubled forest. Aside from the waving leaves, tall trees, hooting owls and the occasional flapping of bird wings, I seemed to be alone. Or I thought I was. Sounds of howls tore through the air, and in a flash of light, two huge wolves ran past me, one on my left, and another on my right gunning for the river. I stood still, shocked at how they'd sped past, contemplating my next action. I went after them, as fast as my feet could take me. From the small distance between us, I saw them split, one took to the right, and the other to the left side of the river. By

XAVIERAI had that dream again. I was in a dense forest, two wolves ran past me, each on my side, heading to the glistening river that was before me. I ran after them until I reached what appeared to be the river bank. Lightning struck one of the trees behind me, and the forest was enveloped in flames. The still water before me erupted into troubled waves, powerful currents clashed against each other, threatening to swallow me up, pushing me back to the fire that waited to consume me. By my left, one wolf stood and by my right, another, each headed for two different paths. Then one of the wolves turned, its eyes icy, and crystal, magnificent and magnetic. It turned away from me, running further into the path it stood. The other wolf was equally far gone. The fire and the waves roared concurrently, forcing me to make a quick decision. I followed the crystal eyed wolf, and the moment I took that path, I was transported into the past. Fire roared through the night's sky, warming the co

ALPHA RYKERAs my convoy drove through the gates of the Dupont mansion, I tried to maintain a cool facade. Aaron Dupont had been pestering me for a meeting, and every time I cancelled, he played strings like a cat with its mouse. I hated how trapped I felt, and to think it wasn't even my choice, yet here I was. I hated his games, but this is what you get for becoming a collateral for the devil's bidding, and fucking his granddaughter nonetheless. Lauren wasn't home, and the shift festival was in three hours. I decided it was best to finish this dirty business in her absence and today. I wanted to just move on from this sordid deal once and for all. A rotund bald man with rosy cheeks, dressed in an impeccable white dresshirt and black pants waited at the entrance of the house. I recognised him immediately. He was Aaron's longest serving staff, and as I've deduced, confidente. “Alpha!” he greeted rather brightly, curtsying the moment I stepped out of my car. “Varys” I responded as I

XAVIERAI stood in the large park with over thirty wolves. Leesa and Adeline stood on both sides of me, waiting for the moon to emerge. Rewind to how I got here, ready to shift with the others. I had successfully walked out that door, and returned home, then I couldn't go through the door, because I couldn't phase through walls—or doors, and I had left my keys inside, and Anna had gone to the clinic. After contemplating going to the hospital, or simply assisting Moondrops at the park for over five minutes, I had gone with the latter. However, on getting to the park, I figured Moondrops was already overstaffed. So, I let Adeline win. Again. She had quickly pulled me in, a little too glad that I had changed my mind, then proceeded to outline the stops they intended to take. She however emphasised on being close and not missing each other. “Remember, you have stick with the subpack” she had reiterated severally. Leesa had taken the invincible baton, explaining the formation which soun
