ALICIA“Jim, I am not surprised. I know he is here already and it's okay. But there is something I would like to know later after this party.” Drake says as he fixes a hard glance on me. I lower my eyes from his powerful stare.“A few minutes ago that wretched man was spotted here in the changing rooms and I would like to know who is that in this pack who allowed him in and what is it that he wanted.” My heart beats extra hard but I try to remain composed. Jim is silent, waiting for the Alpha to speak.“Well, I am going in now. You are in charge of the program and I trust that you will do a great job.” Drake says to Jim. Then he comes closer, places a peck on my cheek and tells me, “Remember to be strong and courageous. See you in a few.”I watch as he takes the few steps to the door, then he opens it and takes a quick glance at us before stepping into the hall. Before the door closes behind him, I can hear loud applauses from those inside. After the door closes there is silence.I am

ALICIA Silence reigns for a fleeting moment as I contemplate on what to say. The moment I was dreading has indeed come and I am now regretting yet again why I didn't tell Drake about Eric the moment we met.“I...um, I was going to tell you about it Alpha..” I start explaining myself as the two men look at me. Eric with victory, albeit temporary, written all over his face and Drake with confusion. I know I am in a deep hole.“Then what happened?” Drake asks me.“Tell him. Tell him now while I am here Alicia. I won't contradict you.” Eric jumps in with his hands flying in the air to emphasize his point. A few meters away I can see that the scene is attracting attention from other guests and some pack members.“He rejected me the moment I found out that he was my mate. I rejected him back and that's why I ran out of his pack. That's why I came here Drake.” I say, looking at Eric in the eye. I am seething with rage, I am feeling tonnes of hatred for him. As far as I am concerned, we were

“I must go. Many of the trainees must leave with me too. The battle has already started.” Drake tells me. He is already up and in the sitting room. He has bathed, dressed up and shaved his beard. I can only admire his energy. It has been a very eventful night and I had a very hard time waking up. I felt like sleeping on and on to recover the sleep I missed. But here is Drake looking ever energetic. Maybe with time I will have the same energy.“It is still too early though, maybe you should go back and have some more sleep. You look very sleepy.” He says. I wonder whether he has read my mind. Not difficult though because since some time last night, we can mind link with him easily. This remarkable fit came with the marking. “No.” I say as I fall into his outstretched arms. “I must see you off. I must also pack some clothes and other essentials for your trip. I must stay awake now that I am up. There's a lot of work for me in my office and I know that delegations will start coming in a

ANDREW'S POV War has started, full scale war. Alpha Eric send me to train the rogues, but the situation changed and now I am in the deep woods fighting with them, at their side. The Rogues, in their haste, started a war they hadn't planned properly. They didn't have the numbers nor the weapons. They weren't even sufficiently trained to handle simple weapons like spears and swords. I wonder what they were rushing for because I don't yet see anything that couldn't wait until every plan was executed. I tried to tell them to delay the attack at least to give us time for preparation but their leader Brice is one who doesn't take advice from anyone. Also, they had grossly underestimated the power of the opponent. Though the opponent didn't have many fighters and warriors, they had a very powerful ally, Alpha Drake. Drake has a very big army of meticulously trained fighters and they are now participating in the war. No one had foreseen this. Our troops are outnumbered by a ratio of one

ALICIA.“You need to be very alert every time. You are going to the real battlefield, not some rehearsal or some training ground, you are going to kill or be killed my daughters. I pray that everything goes well and I will be happy to see you back alive. Of course I don't want you to go but since you are insisting, I have no choice but to bid you goodbye." The emotional words of Benjamin echo in my ears as Melissa and I delve into the jungle. We have been walking for hours and I'm beginning to get tired. The sun is so hot but we have no choice, except to trudge on.Benjamin had offered to drive us using Drake' car but we declined, choosing instead to walk the long distance to the forest where the war is being fought. We would have easily shifted and ran, and eventually got there fast, but we are carrying heavy bags with our clothes and other supplies like food, bathing soap and lotions. Benjamin jokingly told us that we look like hikers. We also declined an offer from Beta Jim to giv
