"It's been seven months." The doctor said to Mrs Evelyn who looked anything but happy. "I don't care how long it's been," She gritted, "I will not give up on my child."Mrs Evelyn lost a lot of weight over the past couple of months. Watching her daughter remain in a vegetative state nipped at her senses and as the days went by, all she lived for was the hope that she would one day stare at the eyes of her daughter. "We understand your plight.." The doctor said but she was quick to shut him up. "No, you do not! You have no idea what it means to watch your child lie in a vegetative state with nothing to do about it!" She yelled in his face. "I will not have you stand there and advise me to kill my child!"Lucy was in the room, and she held Mrs Evelyn whose hand shook. "Please Calm down, mother. It's okay." She cooed, hoping to curb the implications of Mrs Evelyn's anger. After the accident seven months ago, Mrs Rivera had dedicated her every waking moment to tending to June and as a

"You're alive!" Lucy cried, unable to believe it. She rushed towards June and held her palm. "Are you alright? Do you feel pain anywhere?" Lucy's voice was hurried and full of affection. "Water.." She croaked, meanwhile, Liam beeped the doctors and soon the ward was filled with medical professionals who checked on June. "How many fingers am I holding up?" The medical director asked."Two," June replied. "How about now?" "Five." Liam, Lucy and the others watched tensely as the doctor carried out his evaluation process. "It's a miracle." He said after a few minutes. "I've never seen such a smooth recovery in my forty-five years of practice." He spoke with awe. "You must have done something right in your previous lifetime, Miss."June couldn't be bothered with his words. "Where is Rafael?" She asked, "I need to see him. What happened to him? And mother? Where is she?"Lucy was alarmed at her friend's question. She looked over to Liam, begging for assistance. She couldn't inform Jun

Tears poured out of Evelyn's eyes upon sighting June, seated on her bed, awake, alive and in tears. She blinked, unable to believe it was indeed her child. The one she had watched for the past seven months, bereft and holding on to the hope that one day, she would look back at her with the brown orbs she'd grown to miss. "Mother..." June cried and made her way to her mother who sat in a wheelchair. As soon as Evelyn woke up, she refused the doctor's advice and insisted on seeing June immediately. Lucy tried to calm her and exposed that June was well and awake, which worsened the situation. Mrs Evelyn tried to pull out the IV drip when she heard that June was awake but thankfully, the doctor was there to help the situation. After a few long minutes, Evelyn was dressed and placed in a wheelchair with her IV drip made to go. "Child..." Evelyn cried. "Is that really you? Are you truly alive?" June walked up to her mother and held her hand. "I'm so sorry, mother." She cried. When Eve

Later that night, June sat in Carson's office with a straight face. Luis has gone to bed and she decided to meet with Carson regarding Rafael's case. Carson was happy to explain. "We tried everything to resuscitate him all to no avail. It's concerning as the more he remains asleep, the slimmer his chances of waking up." "He will wake up," June said with a determined look. "I believe he will.""Of course," Carson said. "The fact that you are awake is a testament that hope is not lost. We will continue to try our best.""In the meantime, there are some things I'd like to run with you." He cleared his throat. "Luis has been with me ever since the accident. Rather, I have lived with him in Rafael's house, considering Mrs Beatrice is on house arrest."June's eyes widened. She had almost forgotten that little fact. Her heart wrenched at the thought of Luis's plight in all of this. With Rafael and his grandmother out of reach, these past few months must have been gut-wrenching. Even Carso

June was dropped off at JL Architectures headquarters. Lucy stood in front of the building with other employees who waited to welcome the CEO and boss they had expected for so long. Lucy smiled as soon as she saw June highlight from the vehicle, "Quick! She's here! Greet her properly!" June was stunned when a pop sound reached the air and diced sparkling papers rained upon her. "Welcome back to JL, Miss!" They all chorused with stunning smiles that melted June's heart. Standing between them were some employees she identified, Joel Patel and some other designers she hired during the start of the business. They were all so happy and showered her with flowers and gifts that brought tears to her eyes. "Thank you so much," June said, moved by their bold display. "You are all so beautiful.""You are welcome, ma'am!" Some said while others smiled warmly. The entire office was decorated to suit the welcoming party atmosphere. The inscription, welcome back to your world, Miss Rivera, was
