Valerie pov. “Where am I?”. I asked myself as I walked down the lonely rise with my eyes scanning the road anxiously. “You're where you belong”. A voice echoed, causing my heart to sink. “Show yourself!”. I yelled,my heart beating inhumanely quicker. The road was damp causing my legs to squelch at each step. I stopped in my tracks, waiting for the voice to say something again,but there was silence. The weather was hot and there was no single tree to serve as a shield or protect from sunlight. “Show yourself and tell me how I got here!”. I screamed, my hands shaking violently. “This is where you belong, there's no going back. You might be lucky to see……”. “Shut up!. I didn't belong here!!. Get me out of this place!!”.
