It takes a lot of grace and courage to forgive the person who has wronged you but forgiving that person is not only freeing them but more so of yourself, from the pain, from the trauma, from all the emotional betrayal they caused. The deep cuts that go along with being hurt by someone else, emotionally or physically is so traumatizing. That it may take years to heal, to recover, to forget and to move forward. In my case, that someone else is my mother. It's an unimaginably hard task to choose to let go of past hurts and begin to heal
