Paige's POV"Alex, are you okay?" I asked frantic looking around his body for any sign of blood,"I'm fine Mummy but I am scared" he said in a shaky voice trying to pull me closer to him, I pulled him closer placing a kiss on his forehead. Glancing around everyone looked quite shaken up by the sudden gunshot but no one looked injured,"Who got shot?" Jace finally spoke up springing to action, he picked up his phone probably calling the police or maybe an ambulance but I couldn't take my eyes off the broken window by the side, the person knew exactly where everyone was and it didn't look like a missed shot,"Mr.Thomas??" Lisa suddenly called out in a shaken voice making everyone turn to him,"I'm really sorry, Paige" he muttered as blood pooled from his mouth, that was when I noticed his bloody left hand clutched to his stomach like his life depended on it,"Fuck, call an ambulance Jace" I cursed out, he can't die, he is supposed to help me find my child,"I know you hurt me but you do

Catherine's POV I stood in front of his house contemplating my next actions ignoring the rain pouring heavily on me, I knew the damage I had caused but I had no other option,"You should come in or you will catch a cold, he is in his room by the way "Cindy his secretary advised from the front door, she seemed to have noticed I had been standing out here for quite some time now, It wasn't much of a surprise meeting her here since he had not been in the office for some days,"Thank you, I will be in shortly" I replied nervously, she nodded before heading back inside, I took a few deep breaths before following suit making sure to take off my wet shoes before going in.I stood in front of his room door prepping myself before I finally knocked, I waited for a few minutes without a reply then I took the bold step of going in,"What are you doing here?" He spoke up harshly his voice echoing in the dark room startling me a little,"And I don't remember asking you to come in," he said again

Paige's POVMum has been crying non-stop since we got back, I have tried everything but she won't even let me into her room, she dashed off immediately her shock wore off without saying a word, we had to take her home since she didn't know her way around and insisted she would not be going back into the office for any meeting,"How are you feeling ?" Lisa asked after a moment of silence, luckily she called right in time so I just vented out to her,"My feelings right now are not my priority, besides how am I expected to feel, he hurt my mother not me so that question should be directed at her" I answered like I was stating facts,"You know that's not true, he is your father, whom you never met or talked to even for one day, and twenty-one years later you coincidentally meet him while searching for your son, his grandchild, I know you should feel some sort of anger and resentment but is there no curiosity to want to hear his side of the story, to want to get to know him, you know to fi

Paige's POVFor the past three days, Jace has been acting quite strange and that is when he is around, for most of the day he just disappears and comes back right before dinner, I would have asked but he would think I care and I can't have that,"Can you get me a glass of orange juice please" Mum requested not taking her eyes off the reality show she seemed to have found a sudden interest in,"Okay," I replied walking to the kitchen,"Here you go," I said offering her the drink,She stretched out her hand to take it her gaze still fixated on her show, "Thank you my child" she appreciated."Mum" I called out after a few minutes,"Yes," she answered,"Have you noticed anything up with Jace recently?" I asked just to be sure it's not all in my head,"He seems to have something keeping him occupied" she replied with divided attention,"I feel like something is wrong but I don't want to directly ask him" I confessed,"And why is that?" she asked finally focusing her attention on me,"He wi

Paige's POV"So you are saying I would have to go in myself?" I asked trying to put everything together,"It's the best option, you are his mother so there should be a bond of some kind between the both of you, if someone else tries to bring him out we are not sure he won't put up a scene that would bring attention" Liam explained,"I understand" I muttered lost in thought,"You are not going to do it, are you?" Jace fired his voice deadly calm,"If it is the only way then why not?" I answered back sarcastically,"You don't fucking get it, do you, those people are dangerous, they could put a bullet right through you without any of us even noticing" he replied tugging at his hair, a habit he always does when he is tensed about something,"That is why we are there to protect her" Carlos spoke up,"Is anyone going to follow her in?" Jace asked with a raised eyebrow, his eyes focused on their facial expressions probably waiting for them to do something suspicious,"We are not very sure ab
