Chapter Four Mason She has the most beautiful laugh; they could light up the whole room. I stood by the fireplace, watching Emily laugh as she hugged her mother, Esther, and exchanged pleasantries with who I perceived to be her uncle. She called him ‘Uncle Robert’ a few times. I couldn’t help but look around my surroundings: the marble floors and expensive paintings on every wall, the high ceiling, and a big chandelier at the center of the hall. Chapter Ten Esther I sat in the wheelchair that was positioned near the window so I could feed my eyes on the beauty of nature.
