Maya’s povI improved at controlling both my element and my telekinetic power over the course of the week. I never went an hour without practicing something. Even within the temple, I was constantly attempting to move objects or perform minor flame tricks. I tried more daring tricks outside. When they first saw me shooting fireballs into the air, the guards who were with us were completely taken aback. They did, however, have a better grasp of the situation after speaking with the elders. I was relieved that they appeared to have become more watchful and protective of me after that. That implied that they wouldn't think twice about joining the royal guards. Two weeks passed by. My initial goal upon arriving at the temple was to rejoin the pack in two weeks. But now I wanted to continue improving in all areas. Yes, I missed my mate and my friends, but I had heard that my father controlled two elements – water and air. My goal was to acquire at least one more power while I was there.

But we didn’t have the whole day to explore the whole place unfortunately, so we went straight to the history section. “Where is that book? The history of werewolves…” mumbled Nancy, as she scrutinized through the neatly packed stacks of books. She seemed to be focused on finding something in particular while I was mesmerized by the number of books in front of me. It was so satisfying. I bet it had all the books by my favourite author.
