Lorenzo He’d been more busy than he had since he was rebuilding his pack from the ground up in the last couple of weeks. Keeping up with every day pack duties and paperwork, plus managing all the new construction going on .. plus trying to train Collins..It was just about more than he could handle. He had been so busy, in fact, that he barely noticed the horrible stomach pains he’d had for the past couple days. He threw back some medicine that first morning. Thinking it would eventually subside. But by that night he noticed it was still there.. and he started thinking back to what he had eaten recently. Maybe he got some bad food. But it wasn’t really that kind of pain. It was more like a ball of stress sitting there in the middle of his body. But his mind was too busy to concern himself with it too long. He’d been struggling getting things done. And even though he had thought it was a bad idea to have Collins working so closely with him, she had picked up things quickly and wa

Emily Emily tried to move fast but it was literally impossible. The problem was, she couldn’t make any mistakes right now. She took one deep breath… then another… then another. She calmed her breathing as much as she possibly could. And then she started. She got the glass with the little bit of the mixture in the bottom and limped over to the kitchen sink. She poured the rest of the mixture into the water bottle, careful not to inhale any of it.. and careful not to touch it. She then tightened the top back on the water bottle and stuck the whole thing in the waistband of her sweat pants. She hoped to goddess the plastic wouldn’t bust open… She took the glass then and dried it out with a washcloth Nick had brought. The washcloth, that might have small bits of the mixture on it, was discarded. Then.. she slammed the glass against the steel wall, breaking it. Emily went over as quickly as she could muster- which wasn’t very quick at all- and picked up the biggest piece of glas

Lorenzo As soon as he’d heard Emily was missing he left his pack and came straight to hers. The entire drive he was losing his mind thinking of all the awful things that could’ve happened to her. Her brother had been frantic enough on the phone that Lorenzo knew he was worried. And that meant this was serious. It was all he could do not to strangle someone as soon as he hung up. He didn’t need to lose anymore chairs so throwing another one was out of the question. But he did turn around and punch the wall so hard a large hole appeared. The walls were made from extremely thick reinforced logs. They were sturdy fuckers. And his hand went straight through it with no problem at all. Except there was a problem. Now he had to fix that shit. Collins had ran into his office and Jarvis was right on her heels. “Goddess.” She said when she saw the huge hole. “We’re gonna have to ramp up the heat.” Lo almost… ALMOST smiled at that. He’d never met a wolf that was bothered by the cold. Thei

Lorenzo He and Alan decided not to say anything to Nick yet. They didn’t want to tip him off and have to do something rash to Emily. Or run away. Instead they went straight to the council. Reymond frowned. “You think Nicklaus did this? Her husband… her mate??” He asked them. Alan and Lo both answered at the same time. “Yes.” Reymond sighed. Then Red asked: “where is Alpha Nick right now?” But no one knew. “Alright. Let’s don’t scare him off though. Let’s search the town hall, Red. And you three.. go over to the pack house and start looking around. See if you can find this safe room. Or Nick. But don’t question him wait til we get there in case he tries to run off.” Reymond said. They nodded. When they entered the house.. Ellis said ..“Come with me a moment.” And he led them into the kitchen. They walked to the back part of the kitchen where the cooking happened and asked s few of the wolves back there to leave them a moment. Once they were gone he turned to Alan and

Emily Emily was sitting by the little stream in the woods. She had been a run and shifted back to sit and watch the water a while. Evidently she was tired because she’d taken a nap. When she woke up.. she wasn’t alone. She turned and looked at the person sitting next to her. Charlotte. Charlotte grinned at her and Emily immediately started crying. But why was she crying? Wait a minute. Charlotte couldn’t be here. Charlotte had died. But there she was… sitting right beside her. “Charlotte?” She asked. Charlotte laughed. “Yeah goofy. Why are you acting so surprised?” Emily smiled at her. But then she frowned and looked around. “Where did you come from?” She asked her. “Emily…” Charlotte said. “I’ve been here the entire time.” Tears ran down Emily’s face. She reached over to grab her best friends hand. To her surprise she could feel it. She gasped. Then she reached out and hugged her. She hugged and hugged and squeezed her as tight as she could. Charl
