Emily Emily opened her eyes and looked around. She was thankful she had been able to return here. She had done it so many times now, she was afraid she couldn’t find her way back. But this time. Charlotte wasn’t there. But Emily wasn’t alone either. There were birds everywhere. Hundreds of them from the looks of it. But not just any bird. Rare purple finches. Emily smiled. She knew by now these birds were a sign from Charlotte. But she was in a dream… wasn’t she? And she wanted the real Charlotte. Although Emily wasn’t completely convinced this was a dream anymore. That line between what was real and what wasn’t — had blurred completely. The birds flew around her.. some of them on the ground.. making their beautiful music with their voices. Wait. Voices. She heard more of them. But this one was a new one. Not her brothers or father. Not Juniper or Maeve. No. This voice belonged to Lorenzo. “Lo?” She said. Lo was here? She took two steps towards the voice but then stop

Emily She and Juniper had both sat and stared at the feather for what seemed like hours. They’d look at each other, completely confused…. then go back to staring at that feather. They both watched it as if it would sprout legs and come alive at any second. How had it happened? Where had it come from? Emily couldn’t believe it. But she also knew .. it was from Charlotte. How it had gotten there… she had no clue. Even Juniper who was all about facts and studies and science could not think of one plausible explanation. She kept the feather underneath her pillow after that. The following day Emily told Pam she was ready. She held on to Charlotte’s feather for strength. Just as she had feared.. Pam used the words sexual assault.. and just as Emily had thought it might… all the memories came rushing back. It took her several minutes to calm down. She cried.. Pam cried too. Pam held her. Emily screamed… remembering Nick kicking her. Remembering him punching her, and how she’d brok

EmilyLater on that night, Emily sat with Juniper, telling her everything that went down with Nick. She had already told everyone what she did, she just didn’t give them details. Her dad and June were going to be leaving soon. She dreaded that severely. Having June here kept her mind of missing Charlotte as much. When she finished telling her everything June smiled and took her hand. “You’re free now Emily. You can go where you want… be with who you want…..” she winked. Emily laughed at her. “Your reason for being mated with Nick in the first place.. has been achieved. You did what you were meant to… it’s over with now.” Emily felt tears come to her eyes. Juniper strongly believed the reason she and Nicklaus had to mate first was because she had to take down Sophia and Susan. And the reign they had over the pack. She had to admit.. she wondered too. So many times she thought there had been a mistake made.. but who knew the way these things worked. Samuel was coming over to do

EmilyFor the next few days, in between taking care of the kids and playing and spending time with them… hanging out with Alan, going to see the doctor and doing some exercises he had given her and working with Samuel on the Alpha duties… AND taking care of her Luna duties as well…. She started writing. She did Raleigh’s first. Even though he had died … they still needed testimony on him to link Sophia and the rogues. It was very hard for her to write about what he had done to her in that safe room. But once she finished… she did feel lighter… and better about it. She had been having nightmares occasionally. Usually they involved Nick and him trapping and hurting her. But she always screamed the loudest in her dream when Raleigh showed up. The next one she wrote was the rogue wolves. She was especially thankful she didn’t have to travel to their trials that would take place elsewhere. When it came time to do Nick’s or Sophia’s, she didn’t know which one to do first. Reliving all

LorenzoThe last couple of weeks he had stayed busier than ever. He had so many different things going on at once he couldn’t keep up with them. He talked to Emily occasionally… but he talked to Alan all the time. Alan was quietly and stealthily giving Lo the rundown of everything going on there. He didn’t mention his side gig of getting information from her brother to Emily. He didn’t want her to think he was going behind her back to find out what was going on. Even though that’s exactly what he was doing. He and Emily were keeping things very light and very surface level. They would text each other a couple times a week, and talk on the phone maybe half that amount. She would ask him about things going on in his pack, and he would ask her about the folks back home. He figured it was what she needed right now, and he was more than happy to give it to her. He didn’t mention that he knew she had started divorce proceedings… he didn’t mention that he knew she had denounced Nick ei
