Alpha Hunter's pov "Alpha..." Amalthea attempted rising from her bed but I waved her back down. "Don't move an inch, you need your rest." I told her as I walked to her side, my eyes trailed down her body as I assessed her and wondered how possible it was that her baby didn't die. "I heard what happened and trust me, I won't rest till I find out who did this to you." I assured her and her eyes trailed Clara and held. They seemed to be communicating with their eyes and I didn't like it, something felt wrong here. I just couldn't trust Clara to follow the plan and not let her feelings get in the way. "Thank you Alpha," Amalthea eventually said and I nodded slowly. "How are you feeling?" I asked as I stared at her pale face. "A little better, I'm still weak though." She muttered and I nodded slowly. "The doctor said everything is alright with the baby?" I feigned worry. "Thankfully, yes."

Amalthea's POV That was a close call, I shuddered to think what explanation I would have come up with had Alpha Hunter seen me on the floor with those files open. There was no way I would have been able to explain that and I was unsure what he would have done. I returned to the pack house with a pounding yet disappointed heart.
