MADDIE POV I feel empty and hollow as I slowly open my eyes. I expect to see the hospital ceiling above me; it would make sense due to possible injuries I incurred from the council challenge. Instead I see grey cinderblock, and I squint my brow in confusion. I slowly move my limbs a little and they don’t hurt like I expected them to.
