Seraphine’s POV.After training, I went to the room Alaric and I shared in the west wing of the Palace. I didn't leave with Alaric as he was called for an urgent meeting with the pack elders and the council. I overhead them talking about something like strengthening pack defense. I still don't know much about pack politics, but I knew the pack elders look down on me because I am a woman. I walked into the bathroom and slipped into the warm embrace of the bath that the pack's omega had prepared for me. Tough choice.

Present day.The next morning, everyone was up as soon as the first ray of sun pierced through the clouds. Seraphine had barely slept, she was torn between going to look for her sister and continuing their journey. Both were very important and time dependent, the life of all the members of her pack depended on it, but Elara was also her only sister, and she would rather die than let anything happen to her. Seraphine couldn't think of anyone that would have a personal vendetta against Elara. "She was definitely kidnapped by my enemies to get leverage over me", she thought. She couldn't help but feel guilty that if anything happened to her sister, it would be her fault. An omega led them through a hallway to their rooms. "Here we are, Luna," she said in a soft voice. "Thank you," Seraphine responded with a smile. Before she went in, she pulled Gareth to the side. "When you are done resting, I want you to survey the pack and see how things are done here. I don't want what happened in Redmoon pack to repeat itself." "Yes Luna, you can go in and rest. It's obvious you are tired. I will come with a report later." He replied, and she gave him a grateful smile in return. Seraphine stepped into the guest room, eager to get out of her clothes and take a bath. She felt a wave of warmth wash over her. The room was so inviting and filled with a rich scent of recently polished wood and a faint hint of lavender. Thick cream curtains draped over the windows, casting a soft glow in the room with the late afternoon light. The proposal.

Seraphine's heart raced with anticipation. She hoped she would be able to convince Alpha Carlson as soon as possible. Moments later, she heard a voice telling her to come in and she opened the door. Alpha Carlson was seated on a couch in the office and Shaman Soraya sat on the couch opposite him. They seemed to be having a serious conversation. The Alpha's office looked more functional than luxurious, as opposed to the rest of the pack house. The walls were painted in a simple beige color, giving the room a neutral backdrop. A sturdy and unadorned wooden desk sat against one wall. It was covered with stacks of paperwork and a few scattered pens, suggesting that he had a busy schedule but lacking any personal touch. In one corner of the room, lay a desk with a chair behind it and two mismatched chairs in front of it. Out of everything Seraphine had expected her to say, a prophecy was the least of her expectations. "What are you talking about?" She asked. "It was foretold by the chief priestess of our pack a hundred years ago." Seraphine's brow furrowed. She had been curious to hear what Soraya had to say, but nothing had prepared her for this. Seraphine retired to her room for the night, her mind racing with new discoveries and realizations. She had to make a decision that would ensure both her safety and that of her pack. As she entered the room, she closed the door quietly behind her and leaned against it with a sigh, closing her eyes. She missed the comfort of the room she had shared with Alaric back at Bloodmoon, but all that seemed like another lifetime now, she felt like she had aged a little in the past few days. Seraphine squinted her eyes as the rays of the morning sun filtered through the curtains. She had spent most of the night thinking of a way out, and now it was time to make a decision. She got ready for the day and left her room. The pack house was silent as she descended the stairs. Soraya and some other witches were already waiting for her in the main hall. Joining forces with the Bluemoon Pack would give her more power, security and a means to defeat her enemies, but it also meant turning her back on everything her pack had stood for, betraying the legacy her father had fought and died to protect. Murder mystery.

" The Alpha of the Bluemoon pack is dead, and I am the only witness," she whispered, the severity of the situation dawning on her. "They can't possibly think you were the one that killed him, right? Let's just be glad the rogues have left now, they will most certainly regroup and come soon, so we need to leave." Gareth said. However, Seraphine's troubles were far from over. Within the next few hours, rumors would spread that she was the one responsible for Carlson's death. The witches would believe that she had betrayed them, and seek retribution. Soraya would most likely be convinced that Seraphine had orchestrated the assassination and call for her capture. The truth.

Seraphine stared in shock, the bodyguard had just confirmed the stranger's words. " She ordered me to contact the rogues and arrange Alpha Carlson’s assassination. She told me to get him out of the way." He said hastily. Seraphine felt a momentary wave of relief and then anger washed over her. "Why would she do this? What is her plan?" She didn't get to finish her question before he pulled a white potion out of his pocket and poured it into his mouth before any of them could blink. Her eyes widened as his mouth started foaming almost immediately. The stranger immediately sprung to action, he turned the bodyguard's head upside down and tried to make him spill out the potion, but it was already late, his body convulsed a few times before he became still with his eyes staring lifelessly into space and his lips turning black. Seraphine stared at what just happened in horror, "What in the seven worlds just happened ?" she asked. "He ingested poison. It is a common practice with assassins.

After the kidnap.

Elara's POVOne of Alpha Daven's rogues carried me on his back till we got out of my sister's sight, then dropped me on the ground with a thud. I straightened my back to ease the pain. I didn't think Seraphine would realize I was gone so soon. These men were supposed to have taken me away before Seraphine managed to find out I was gone. I don't know why she had been hellbent on leaving Redmoon so quickly, she ruined all my plans, and now I had to think of a way out. ---------- A few hours earlier.
