Elaine. “Where were you?” The boom of his voice in the darkness greeted me the moment the door opened and it rooted me in a spot. I thought he was asleep. I had delayed coming home till I was sure he was asleep. So why was he wide awake and staring daggers at me. “Out.” I answered, and immediately began to take off my shoes. “Out where? You smell of alcohol.” He added out of nowhere. I stepped deeper into the room and he was sitting up in bed with the sheets bunched up around his waist. “Out with Elias.” I added, as if this clarification was good enough. His eyes tracked me as I began to do my usual routine of taking off my jewelry, the pins in my hair and the rest. “Why didn't you take your own car?” I shrugged, “I didn't feel like driving?” “Why didn't you ask your driver to take you?” I shrugged again, “Elias was driving.” “But he doesn't have a car.” I stopped my motion and turned to look at him, feeling the beginning of anger, and jealousy but managing to temper it d

Sister?” I am sure that my confusion and irritation was obvious on my face because I don't know where this is coming from. “Yes. Sister” She smiled again, like a cheeky cat, who was just caught doing something they shouldn't be doing. “I thought you have always known?” The. I know I shouldn't feel this way but having her tower over me like this especially with the way Nik left with her earlier just made me feel very small. “I remember v

Babe are you sure you're fine?” Serena asked and reached out to hold my hand and I nodded. We were all seated at the court side of a basketball game. The men had decided that since the New York Knicks made it to the playoffs this year that they were going to watch it live. Serena and I were sitting side by side and flanked on both sides by our husband. I shot a quick glance at Nik, whose entire attention was on the basketball court, and his careless hand which was squeezing my thigh. Serena, who was now facing the court, gave me a brief relief from the concerning looks and glances she had been shooting at me all night. I had on thigh high leader boots tucked into equally leather pants and a cropped white Jersey too. The goal was casual, yet cute. Unlike me, Serena was putting on stilleto heels and a mini bubble skirt, with a similar jersey of her all time favourite player. Nik was tense, and I could tell it was the game because every time the knicks threw a brick shot, or when
