Be My Slave: A Mafia Romance 의 모든 챕터: 챕터 51 - 챕터 60

CATALINA The rain started as a drizzle and quickly turned into a downpour as I sat in my car, parked just outside my apartment.I hadn't moved for nearly an hour, my fingers gripping the steering wheel, my eyes staring ahead, into empty space.Pregnant.The word echoed again and again in my mind, wrapping itself around every thought and decision.I thought about telling Miguel. And yet, I didn't move. Couldn't.Because this wasn't just about Miguel. It was about a child. A life I had to protect in a world full of guns, killings, kidnaps and all sorts of vile things. A world I was warned countless times to walk away from. Could I really bring a child into that world? My phone buzzed. My heart skipped a beat.Miguel.“Hello…”“I didn’t want to call or disturb you…but I needed to hear your voice.”My throat tightened.“I told myself I'd give you space,” he continued softly, “but I can't. I really miss you.”A lump rose in my throat. I wanted to speak, to say something…anything. But all

CATALINA I snuggled against Miguel, wrapping my arms tight around him. It excited me, that I would have access to him like this all my life. Mrs. Catalina Alejandro.I giggled at the sound of that in my head…it sounded nice. I should probably get used to it.I thought of telling him about the pregnancy. No. That can wait. It would be like a surprise or a gift. How happy would he be if I told him we were expecting a baby on our wedding night? Extremely happy right? But what if Miguel welcomed the idea of getting married but disliked the idea of having kids? What would happen then? Well he'd have to suck it up because I've decided to have this baby, with or without Miguel.I gave him a peck and got up to prepare for work. Getting pregnant or engaged didn't mean I had to stop working…maybe during my honeymoon? Or when my stomach gets too big. I giggled again as I imagined myself with a protruding belly. Miguel turned and opened his eyes. “You keep giggling,” he said, his voice rough.

MIGUELI've never been jealous of a little child before in my life. The kid Catalina brought home was a menace. He didn't stay for a full 24 hrs but he made sure I felt his presence in my house.First, he never left Catalina's side, he followed her around like a lost puppy. When it was time to sleep, he insisted on sleeping between us. I couldn't touch my woman because of a little boy, and when I complained, he only laughed at me and Catalina laughed along with him. Then the next morning, Catalina made me babysit him while she prepared for work. I stared down at the little boy, wondering what to do with him. And the boy laughed at my expression. The child was laughing. At me.He had no fear. He tugged at my hair, slapped my cheek, and then sneezed on me. All in under five minutes, and still… I didn’t put him down.“Kid,” I muttered. “You better not poop on me.”Axel giggled again.“I am a very dangerous man,” I tried to scare the kid. “I kill people for a living,” I told him serio

CATALINA I was the one getting married, but I wasn't allowed to participate in anything. Gabriella kept overworking herself. Everytime I volunteered to help, she asked me to stay out of it, or to go get my beauty sleep. I slept until I dreaded sleep, and when I complained to Miguel, he would only tell me to listen to Gabriella. The only thing I was allowed to participate in was the dress fitting…. obviously because I was the bride. Gabriella already picked out the dress, I only needed to be present for the sizing. I wanted to lash at her for picking out my dress for me but when I saw what she picked out, I held myself back. The dress was so beautiful, it hung like a masterpiece. It was crafted from ivory silk and laced with gold embroidery. Hand beaded crystals shimmered along the hem like scattered diamonds. Come to think of it, Gabriella always picked out my dresses per Miguel's instructions and she never disappointed. She seemed to always know what would suit me perfectly fo

CATALINAI had a nightmare.I jolted up, drenched in sweat and panting like a chased deer. Miguel left me, and I kept looking for him, running around. Then I fell and screamed out his name, but he didn't answer, and he didn't come to save me either.“Are you okay?” He woke up too and gave me a calming hug.I held him tight, scared to let go. “Promise me you'll never leave,” I said between pants. “Don't ever leave me..”Miguel chuckled lightly. “Are you having doubts on our wedding day?”Oh yes. I remembered. Today is supposed to be my wedding day. Could be why I had such a scary nightmare.“I just had a bad dream, that's all.” I assured him.He gave me a comforting kiss. “You're nervous, I understand. But I'm still going to say this… I, Miguel Alejandro, will never leave you Catalina.”I tried to ease the weight pressing on my chest with a teasing smile. “Save the vows for later.”“I can say my vows to you everyday if it'll assure you of my undying love.”I believed him.
