Dante Mateo was livid. He was more pissed about the fact that I hadn't called him immediately than the fact that my nose looked and felt like a sad little raisin. I listened to him rant about how Asher had no regard for authority or simple human decency and how the disciplinary committee should have been more brutal in their punishment. I couldn't care less about any of that. The throbbing in my nose had reduced to a dull ache and my head was beginning to swim with the buttload of painkillers I'd been given. The clinic attendant had been kind and caring but firm and swift. I had no idea what she intended to do until she did it. Thought she was going to feel around the nose or something which she did initially, but then her fingers moved quickly and I heard a loud crack shortly before I felt the pain. Oh God the pain!I had never felt anything like it. My nose was back into place and she smiled, and gave me a thumbs up, but it hurt like hell. It was a hard toss deciding which w

Asher I jumped onto stacks of wood and lunged for another beam beside him. He was a werewolf. He shouldn't be able to die that easily. I was right. He was still breathing but it was faint and shallow. The wooden beam had gone straight through his heart. He should be dead, but his werewolf abilities were still fighting back. They didn't stand a chance though. I knew that, but I had to help him somehow. I had to try. The beam I was balanced on creaked under my weight as I tried to stretch out to reach him. I thought about pulling him off but I didn't know if that was going to make him bleed to death or if his healing abilities would be fast enough to compensate. “Don't bother.” the words were very faint and if I were only human, I might not have heard them. They came from the old man, teetering on the edge of death. “I need to help. Who did this to you? Was it the rogue wolf hunter?” I asked urgently. He coughed out blood weakly and I heard his breath flutter. He nodded once.

Dante.I stuffed half my burger into my mouth the next day, trying to quench the hunger that had somehow taken control of my body.I had not had a single thing to eat all day and it was four p.m. A professor had decided to waste my time, making me her assistant today which meant I had to go with her to all of her classes thanks to Slyder for trying to argue with me in class.“Will you slow down, this is your second burger, man,” Mateo said, his eyes fixed on me.“Sorry, man. I'm just really hungry,”“Yes, it is quite clear that you are. What happened? Did you forget to eat breakfast or what?”“Woke up late, skipped breakfast and lunch because Professor Porter made me her assistant for the day. I had to follow her to all her classes as punishment for talking in her class.”Mateo chuckled, shaking his head in amusement.“Not funny, man. I'm starving.”“Why were you talking in class anyway?” Mateo asked, taking a sip of his coke zero.“Slyder. She argues about everything,”“You two are s

DanteAs soon as I got out of the dorm building, I began to hyperventilate. He'd kissed me. Why the fuck did he kiss me? This was sexual harassment, right? That had to be it.I ran my hands through my hair, trying to fight the urge to think about what had just happened. I had been expecting him to shove me, push me. Anything else, but kiss me? That was totally out of line.Out of nowhere, Amir stopped his car in front of me. “Get in,” he said. I did as he told me to without hesitation.“Did you get what you were supposed to get?” He asked.“huh?” I frowned as I got into the passenger's seat.“Your textbook?” He said, igniting the engine and driving it off.“Oh, yeah, yeah,” I nodded, remembering how passionately Asher had kissed me and how I had almost liked it?No, no, no. I didn't like it. I wasn't gay. It would be gay if I liked the taste of another guy's lips, not to mention ridiculous. He was my fucking bully too. Now, that was mental.“Are you okay?” Amir asked, looking between

Asher. The scorching sun of the afternoon made me want to rip off my clothes, transform and run into the woods till I couldn't feel it anymore. I had not expected to meet the kids' mom and girlfriend. They were both cute, but it was obvious as fuck to me that the puny kid didn't love his girlfriend like he claimed.“Someone's jealous,” Dean boldly said, and I wrinkled my nose in annoyance.Jealousy was a strong word. It was just an observation, but Dean was a total ass and was obsessed with his mate.“Not now, Dean,”“Why not? You were clearly jealous especially when he kissed her. It's okay I was jealous too,” he said, annoying me further. Sometimes I wish I could rip him off my consciousness.I scoffed. “Really? I didn't notice. I especially didn't notice when you almost transformed and pounced on the poor girl.”“Well, she thinks our mate belongs to her, I can't have that,” Dean growled.“Actually, that's just her boyfriend, you are the intruder here and can we stop talking about t
