VENUS Light. Too much of it. It stabbed through my eyelids, slicing into the dark I’d been clinging to. My body felt heavy, foreign, like it belonged to someone else, every nerve humming as though I’d been rewired in my sleep. For a long, terrifying second, I couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe.
