Samantha's POVI sat still as Adams drew blood from me for the test. I'd gone to him immediately after I left Alaric to return to his meeting with his men."All done." Adams loosened the strip on my arm and I flexed my fingers, realizing I’d been rigid the entire time. The tiny puncture already closed up on it's own. "Are you feeling okay?" he asked, noticing my mood. Worry still wrecked me."What if it turns out negative?" I hated the taste of that word in my mouth. I wanted it to return positive. I didn't know where this fear was coming from.Adams relaxed his shoulders and smiled before turning away to proceed with the test. I followed suit."There are a lot of days in the year to make it happen. I'm sure you two can't keep your hands away from each other." My lips formed a circle in shock."Adams!" I drew his name out.He simply laughed. Stopping momentarily."Can't this old man be silly for once?" I shook my head, laughing as well. I closed the distance wrapping my arms arou

BALL NIGHT Samantha's POV The news had reached my grandparents the moment they arrived at Silverbane pack from Nightveil, along with relatives and the pack officials from Urtharland, the very island grandma had hidden the rest of the white wolves. Liv screamed at the top of her voice when I’d told her about the news of my pregnancy. She and Julian had gone out shopping that same day to congratulate me. My family didn’t spare any expense either. If I thought I was being spoilt and treated like a weakling this entire time, I had no idea I was only tasting what it truly felt like to be utterly spoilt. I would have sworn — if it didn’t sound exaggerated — that Dad would have servants cleaning the grounds at every step I made. It all felt surreal. That once-bullied girl, an abused stepdaughter, a broken-hearted mate... it felt too unfathomably real that I was a princess. Not to even say, the daughter of the Lycan King of the South and the heir to Urtharland, the White Wolf P

Samantha's POV We walked down the stairs, eyes pinned on Finn and Lily as they stared at us, mouths agape, like they were seeing something ridiculously impossible. A hint of annoyance shot through Lily’s face, impatience edging her back-and-forth movement. The moment we got to the base of the stairs, Lily and Finn crossed the remaining space to stand before Alaric and me, blocking my friends Liv and Julian from coming towards us. Liv was about to throw her hands in the air, but I shook my head, discouraging her. Thankfully, Julian was holding her back. The rest of the crowd continued to steal glances our way, whispering to each other and muttering amongst themselves. “Alaric.” Finn was the first to speak. “Samantha...” Lily followed suit, her gaze moving from me to Alaric, her face twisting with anger beneath the surface. Her neck strained as if the words she was about to speak choked her. “Why did you both come from there and not the main entrance?” Lily asked, her f

Samantha's POV The mockery on Lily's face had completely dissolved into a fusion of dread and humiliation. Finn's face contorted as if a dagger was being twisted into his chest coated as he stared at Alaric in disbelief, while Jack's expression was enveloped in complete fear. Murmurs rippled through the entire hall. The people in front turned to watch us with curiosity, while the crowd behind tried to push forward to see for themselves. The castle guards were already in position, creating a barricade between us and the rest of the crowd so they couldn't approach further. I looked toward Mom and Dad, still standing with broad smiles on their faces. Dad still had his hand stretched out in our direction, beckoning us forward. Alaric took my hand, and in turn I grabbed Adrian's. We began to approach the stage. I could hear shocked whispers around us. People kept whispering that the genius doctor was Alpha Thorne's real daughter. As we climbed the stairs, I let go of

Lily left the ball the moment it ended and went straight to the quarters she shared with Finn. Rage burned through her. She still hadn’t recovered from the shock. Samantha, the teenage girl she used to bully, the daughter of a rogue, the woman who held the heart of the man she once loved, was the daughter of the Lycan King. And Alaric, her ex-fiancé, was to be the Alpha of the southern region. Everything from the ball felt unreal, like a dream she was desperate to wake from. She had just mocked Alaric and Samantha for never reaching Alpha and Luna positions, no matter what reward Alpha Thorne planned to give them. Minutes later she learned she would now call them her leaders. It was the greatest humiliation of her life. She stormed down the corridor to their quarters, yanking the door open and slamming it shut behind her. Her back hit the wall. Her breathing was heavy. Emotions crashed over her all at once. Then the tears she’d held in all night finally broke free. She d
