Lahat ng Kabanata ng THE BILLIONAIRE'S TWISTED GAMES : Kabanata 21 - Kabanata 30

Days passed and time moved slowly, passing with silence and uneasiness. She went about her chores, conversations and routine with precision while still keeping a tab on both Alex and Victoria. Her resolve hadn’t wavered , not even in the slightest way. She was still hell-bent on destroying them and every single day spent stalking them brought her closer to the skeletons they’d had hidden in their fancy cupboards. Something fishy was going on and soon she’d discover it. ————————————————— Leah found a moment of peace by the poolside, letting the summer sun bask into her skin as she lay down, stretched out on the recliner trying to pretend her entire world hadn’t been falling apart. She tried to appear normal because they were watching, what they didn’t know was that she was watching them too. Tracking every movement, memorizing every expression on their face. Especially his. She spotted Alex at the other end of the poolside. Talking to someone on the phone with his back turned.

Leah stared at the underlined words more times than she could count trying to piece the lines together. Each note was a thread pulling Leah deeper into Sofia’s fractured world. The more she read the more Leah felt as though she knew her or she was beginning to.Her eyes were still glued to the pages when she heard the creaking sound of the door. She hastily jolted upright from where she was seated. With trembling fingers, she slipped the book back in it exact spot and picked up the closest one she could find. She opened up the random book and kept her eyes glued to it, pretending to be fully immersed in it’s content.Alex walked in frantically with his hands in both pockets. His presence was sudden and commanding as always. He paused when he saw Leah and stared at her with confusion. “Uhm, I wasn’t expecting to see you here.”Leah looked up slowly trying to maintain composure even though her heart thundered loudly on the inside. “Well, I just wanted to unwind a little with some boo

Leah stepped out of the greenhouse. Her mind whirled from her encounter with Alex. She had expected Alex to be the usual Alex (difficult, dismissive), but it’s like something she said shook him. Brief as it was, it was something. The next few days passed swiftly, yet not without subtle changes. It wasn't drastic, but there were noticeable changes. He didn’t snap as quickly. His tone carried less anger. And his gaze lingered on her a little bit longer than usual.Once, in the library, she had caught him watching her from across the room. She looked back at him, but he was startled if he had never meant for Leah to see him watching. His eyes darted away almost immediately, but she’d seen it. That look carried something intense; it wasn’t lust or curiosity; it was something heavier. Something he was still trying to understand. The next morning, she was in her room, journaling, when a knock on her door startled her.She shut the journal instinctively. “Come in.”Rachel walked in. “Hey, He

Leah’s fingers trembled as she turned the photo over again - maybe, just maybe, she was seeing things and the image would change but it didn’t.There it was, the same hazel eyes, the same jawline. Everything was oddly identical.Holding her breath, she slowly turned the photo over to the back and a name was scribbled in faded black ink. “Sofia”Her jaw dropped. It all made sense now. She was Sofia’s mirror and this contract wasn't all a coincidence, it was a carefully orchestrated setup. No. A trap. It was never about her but who she reminded them of. It was the reason she was chosen, the reason Alex looked at her the way he did, and the reason for Victoria’s unexplainable hate. She staggered and tripped over a shelf, causing a loud crash.“Damn it!” She muttered to herself. She quickly sprung up to her feet to tidy up her mess before anyone saw her there. Not long after, footsteps echoed in the hallway and Damian strutted in. “Oh God, what happened here?”Leah froze, she couldn’t

Leah stood still, her hands still wrapped around the door knob. The words reverberated in her head like a stone dropped into a pool of water. She turned slowly to face him. “Wha…What did you just say?”“I’ll call off the engagement.” He repeated, firmly.“You’re just saying things, you're crazy.”“I am in fact crazy about you. That's for certain.”“Oh stop it!” She snapped. “Just weeks ago you wouldn't even look at me and now just because I found the picture, you're saying things like this.”“No, it's not that. It has nothing to do with you or the picture. It’s just something I've been thinking about way before now.” Leah paused and stared at him like he was see-through. To some extent, he was because all she could see now was raw honesty. “Why?”“Do you think I enjoyed being tied to someone I feel nothing for?” He exhaled sharply. “ Victoria is…. She's connected to too much. My company. My family’s legacy. My relationship with her is barely emotional, it's mostly political.”Leah
