Soren.A sight left my mouth as the door to the private hospital room opened up. I put my hands across my eyes and turned onto my side the moment Astrid's head peeked into the room, a tray in her hands.I told her she could take a rest after bringing me to the hospital last night. However, as stubborn as she was, she had vehemently refused to do as I said. She had been walking up and down doing what I didn't know. And now, she was probably carrying a bow of soup inside that tray to force it down my throat just like she had made me eat in the morning. I had told my mother to make her leave because she wouldn't listen to me, even though I was an alpha. My mother had literally smiled at me and patted Astrid on the shoulders and told her to make me eat and take my medications because it wouldn't go well if she stayed back. And guess what, Astrid hadn't left my side since then. I appreciated her for bringing me here, but she was doing too much. She had found me in my worst state two tim

Astrid.I had wanted to asked him why he had attempted to cut his wrist, but I decided to hold it in for a moment. It could be something that he didn't want to share and besides, we weren't the best of friends that I would expect him to tell me things if I wanted to know them.I had to be somehow close to him to he able to ask questions as personal as that one. I had found him in that position two times. Was it related to what Willa had told me sometimes ago? About him going through some hard times?Willa! It's been a couple of times that I haven't hang out with her. I needed to see her and maybe she might be able to tell me something about Soren. He had left earlier after he had received a mind link from whoever, irrespective of his condition. I couldn't stopped him though. It could he something that required his attention.Darson wasn't around. I had taken the training alone. Soren had told me about some fighting competitions he wanted to take part in. He hadn't mentioned that ag

Astrid"You're not focused, Astrid," Darson called out from the bench at the gym entrance after I missed another punch. I retracted back from the dummy. I rubbed my temple and watched as he stood up from the bench and walked towards me."You have competitions you must take in a few weeks or maybe months, and You're not being serious. You have lost your focus."He stood behind the black dummy. His elbow is resting on his left shoulder. He stared down at me like he wanted me to give him an explanation of why I had suddenly lost focus.I avoided his gaze and looked down at the floor beneath my feet like it was going to give the explanation he wanted."You wouldn't stare here all day, beating the dummy. You have a real task ahead, and we can't do that if you can't get past this one."He flipped the head of the dummy. It bounced back and forth before going back to its original state."I'm sorry," I mumbled under my breath, wishing that I could explain to him what was going on, except

AstridSince it was already confirmed that I will be taking part in the competition, Willa and I left for the bloodloom to witness the launching of the competition. She had told me that those who were fighting would be the first batch of Warriors to be selected. The winner would compete against others that were to come. The fight with Malik still left me feeling pains at the side of my stomach, even after two days. Like what were they feeding on? Valency had given me the same punch. That left me in no mood to fight, until I was completely healed. “It's okay if you can't. You can just cancel and stay back. You can go to future competitions.”I glanced up to Willa looking down at the side of my stomach where my hand was I didn't know what those people used to punch me in the stomach. It should have healed by now but then I still felt the pain.”“It's okay. I'm totally fine, it's not something that I cannot handle. We should just go.” I waved it off because I could handle it.She no

Soren. The first thing I did was send out a communique throughout the different packs in the South. I had no idea if the people in the North or West had heard about the Frostborn or seen them, but I had to notify my side of Veridian. It consists of fifteen packs and, presently, in the Council Hall, we had just about twelve packs representing. I didn't have the time to ask about the others; we had to get into this as quickly as possible. I hadn't believed all these rumors about Frostborn until I saw them with my own eyes yesterday when I took a run with Astrid. My father had been at the damp supervising the work, which is why he hadn't been in the pack all this time. We had an argument the other day after he told me that there had been rumors about these creatures, and the rumors had been intensifying given that some people had been killed in the East by them. I didn't agree because I had grown up with the myth of these things. I knew them to be fictional or even stories m
