Em They’d been at the party for about an hour. And lucky her … Quinn was nowhere to be found. Although that did make her wonder where he was. So she kept on drinking. She knew she should slow down since she took her pills before they left the house. But her mind was starting to wonder. A boy walked in the door earlier and for a moment she could have sworn it was River. It wasn’t thank god. But he did resemble him… a lot. She had sat there… staring at the boy and starting to hyperventilate. “Hey…. Em… Em? You okay?!” Asher was in front of her, successfully blocking the boy. She snapped out of her staring and her eyes focused on Asher. Asher. Asher is here. River is not here. She wanted to call Evan and ask him to make sure River was still in town … like she did a few months ago when she felt like she was being watched. Turned out… she was indeed being watched. Quinn He didn’t really know what to expect when he ended up at Dany’s house. Did he think she was going to jump into bed with him first thing? She’d ended up showing him the rest of her house. The kitchen was huge and all dark wood and light floors. There was a laundry room off the side of it and the door to the back patio and yard. There wasn’t much space but it was enough for Christian to run around and play in. Plus they had the side yard which the other townhomes didn’t… since they were on the end. There was a half bath next to the office he’d seen when he came in. They circled around to the staircase and she led him up to the second floor. Quinn They were all crawling out of an Uber. They must’ve left their cars somewhere. That meant they’d all been drinking a lot. He knew they had gone to the party because Elias had told him. But usually at least one of them didn’t drink so they’d have a ride home. That didn’t seem to be the case for tonight. They were all laughing and yelling and having the time of their lives until they looked up and saw Quinn … leading yet another girl out of the house. Fucking hell. That’s just great … he was beginning to think Emerson had some kind of fucking radar that went off every time a girl was around. It took him about three seconds to confirm the fact that they were all plastered. Even Grey who isn’t much of a drinker was stumbling around. Emerson saw him and stopped. Her eyes went from him to Dany .. and about a million emotions went over her face at once. Then… she started laughing. Like leaned over holding her stomach.. crying laughing. He had no idea what was funny right now….

EmSince they all still felt shitty from the night before… they decided to have a low key night at home … well at the twins home anyway. Which felt like Em’s home too now, way more than her own did. She’d often thought about the way things had turned out. What if they’d never moved here… what if they’d gone to another town altogether? Or what if they’d bought a house somewhere else? She might not have ever met the twins.. or Mickey and Sylvia… Quinn. She couldn’t imagine them not being in her life now. And even after all the shifty shit…. She knew she was lucky with some things. Em By the time they made it back to the house they were all like frozen icicles. And poor Asher and Grey almost immediately left again to go back and get the side by side. Em secretly wondered if they were also going to check out the weird vehicle they’d seen. She stared at the back doors now… searching for lights in the distance up the mountain .. but she couldn’t see anything. Sylvia and Mickey both had planned on going home when they got back since they all had school tomorrow.. but the snow was coming down so hard they ended up staying there. They’d missed lunch while they were gone and it was now almost supper time. So while the guys were gone the girls all took showers and put on their coziest pajamas.
