Eva Gibson’s pov Once we reached the Alpha's enormous home, I eyed Austin incredulously. “Why is it so big?” I asked him bluntly. Chuckling, he explained, “So there are enough rooms to house visiting guests from other packs. “Plus his stepmother desired extravagance,” Jace muttered in distaste. “Cleaning it must take days,” I commented, and he laughed again. “There's a full household staff,” Austin said, then closed his mouth abruptly when Gideon reappeared before us. “Alaric refused the challenge and was taken to the council headquarters for trial instead. His daughter is still in hiding and possibly has the gun used on Eva. Also, your father's Beta was mowed down by your deranged uncle; you'll need to get yourself a Beta since his entire family was taken out. Nick has readily agreed and seems pretty confident that he will win,” he asserted sullenly. Cell phone notification sounds suddenly filled the air, and I watched Jace and Austin check their phones. Mine hadn't

Eva Gibson’s pov Having had fantastic sex with my mate, we both fell asleep in contented bliss within each other's arms. When I woke up the following morning with my drool covering Austin’s tawny pec and nipple, I groaned in embarrassment. Wiping off his skin and my mouth, he cracked his eyes open at me and smiled. Covering my mouth, I muttered, “No talking. I'm certain my breath smells like ass.” Chuckling, he pointed at the bathroom and suggested that we go brush our teeth. Nodding, I scooted my bare ass from the bed, dragging the blanket with me. Thankfully, Austin held onto it, so I didn't take it completely or trip on it as I hurried to the bathroom. Brushing my teeth, I glanced at my reflection and grimaced at the tousled, hairy mess blinking back at me. “I should have dried my hair before bed,” I sighed. “Your intimacy wouldn't have been so spontaneous if you had done that,” Lana snickered. Grinning slightly, I recalled that it had started during our shower

Eva Gibson’s pov “Eva, I don't mean to have you fight him alone. I meant that we would work as a team together,” He said softly as he rested his chin on my shoulder and wrapped his arms around my waist. “I would have helped you if you had just asked, Austin, but I don't believe that a person can be your weapon, and definitely not an inexperienced pregnant person,” I responded softly. Grinning at me, I eyed him oddly, and he neared my ear as he said, “My mother informed me that you are the one who will win this challenge, and I will fail without you.” Side-eyeing him, I saw he was telling me the truth, yet I frowned. “Gideon Landers knows I'm pregnant and will take our pup,” I said regretfully. We both glanced at Gideon and saw him standing and brushing his pants off. “Let's go see what he is planning,” Austin suggested. Nodding, I allowed my mate to walk me to the guy I had just nut-smashed earlier. “Gideon, now that you know we have created a pup, what will you do?”

Eva Gibson’s pov Getting pampered by my mate was delightful as he caressed my body and washed me tenderly. My flesh vibrated underneath his skilled fingers as he touched me all over my damp skin. Austin took special care as he rubbed the area where our child lay nestled in my womb, and I almost teared up at the tenderness displayed. Seeing his eyes full of deep emotions and not lust, I understood what he had been trying to convey. He truly loved me, and it filled my soul with so much joy. “I love you, Austin,” I mewed as he moved his hands and massaged the tight muscles on my lower back. Rubbing his cheek against mine while he stood behind me made me close my eyes as I savored our strengthening connection. “We both need more of this closeness,” He growled near my ear. Turning me to face him, he grinned. “I'm going to ask Jace to become our Beta, and I'm hoping he will accept,” He said sternly. Running my fingers up his chest, an idea came to mind. “Can we invite

Austin Belmont’s pov After Eva left the room, I poured another glass of the strong wine and took a big gulp. “Slow yourself, buddy; I don't wish to carry you out of the steakhouse,” Jace growled. He didn't understand the turmoil I was going through. I was certain that I was going to be dead in a matter of days. My uncle was a crazed beast when he fought. Sighing, I rubbed my eyes to clear my blurring vision. “You were stupid to drink,” Nero, my wolf, commented, breaking through my chaotic thoughts. When our food was brought to the table, I narrowed my eyes at Jace. “Where is Eva?” I questioned with a growl. He glanced around the room and asked me where she said she was going. “Uh, to the bathroom to pee, but she should have been back by now,” I growled low. Standing up suddenly, I gripped his shoulder to steady my balance. "Call her cell phone," Jace suggested, and I informed him that she had left it at home. “Your uncle probably took her! You should have accom
