A million is a terrible lot of money.” “I know,” Alex murmured, already bored of the conversation, “Like I said….it’s just my wife.” “Mr Maldov you need to tell your wife to keep her spending on a low. The tax commission—- “Mr James??” Alex cut him off, his eyes carrying a slither of warning as he spotted the name tag on his breast pocket, “Are you saying my wife should spend her husband’s money less?? Despite her same husband not caring about it??” Terrified he might have crossed a line, the banker took a step backward, shaking his head vigorously as he stuttered, “N—no sir. Chapter thirty-four “The boss is out on official business,” Cillian murmured, as he poured the madam of the house her morning cup of tea, “In case you were wondering.” Olivia’s brows tightened into a sharp V. She was annoyed by the question on her face, as to where her husband had vanished to. The last thing she remembered, was waking up to his side of the bed empty, his pillow smelling of his strong cologne. For some reason it perturbed her greatly, that he left without a word. “Killing someone?” She murmured as she took a sip of the chamomile tea she’d requested a few minutes earlier, “Typical.” Cillian’s brow rose in question as to why his madam was grumpy this morning. She’d snorted for the umpteenth time, he glanced over at Sheila who simply shrugged. “Would you like to go somewhere today miss?” He finally asked after a minute of tensed silence. “No.” She replied, “When will he be back?” “Who?” “My hus—“ refraining herself, “Your bos

The car bucked heavily from the bump on the road which

Charles Camden was still on the run, Sebastian’s info about the Russian mob was a fluke which only meant he was back to square one. He let out a sigh, the three dragons were into him now, it was only a matter of time before they found out about his problems. He was the mafia boss, the don of all three organizations, he needed to show them he was still Ontop, a feat which shook with his father-in-law on the loose. Dinner was just served when he walked into the house. Olivia rose to her feet the moment their eyes met, bolting up the stairs before he could even speak. He grimaced, taking a seat and placing a napkin on his thigh to start dinner. Business was shaky, his enemy was still on the fly, now his only form of peace avoided like he was some sort of pathogen. The pecki

She gulped hard, almost wanting to push him away, but a side of her enjoyed the warmth his body brought. His heart kept on beating slowly, his breath ragged, then she felt a trickle of sweat fall onto her shoulder. Quickly, she turned around and placed a hand over his temple. Her intuition was right—Maldov was running a fever. “Wa—“ she paused as he squirmed, finally letting go as he turned to the other side of the bed. He was probably too tired that he didn’t even realize he had a fever.
