By 5 p.m I was in a cab, driving towards the airport to pick Maddy. I still couldn't get my conversation with Graziella out of my mind.I'd been stunned after hearing all she had to say, that I couldn't even find the words to reply." Well I believe that I still love him, Graziella, " I'd said the first thing that came to my mind without giving it a second thought " as bad as I want that to stop. But I can't go back. "She had reached for my hand on the table again and leaned forward, her eyes hopefully for some reasons as they watched me and said " you don't have to go back, Layla, I don't want you to. I just want you to know that Logan would always think about you. You know what he'd said to me before I left his place? He'd said he didn't even want you to find him. He said he'd be the one chasing after you, if that was the punishment he had to serve for all that he's done to you. "I shook my heard to get rid of Graziella's voice in my head. Everything was coming back as if it w

Layla's P. O. V." Hey, Layla! You need to get up. "I let out a small squeak of shock and bolted upright, looking around frantically to try and find what the sound of trouble was. As I looked around, as it happened, I noticed that a few things were completely out of the ordinary. For one, I was wearing a pair of navy blue jeans, a pretty red blouse, a leather jacket and a red scarf that seemed to be squeezing the life out of my neck given how I'd been slumped against the table just now. Two, I happened to be slumped awkwardly over at a table in the corner of a large restaurant that seemed completely empty of customers, save for myself. And lastly, there was a tall imposing figure leaning over me across the table with a rather pitiful and concerned look on his eyes as he watched down on me.Then I looked at my surrounding again and realized I was still at the restaurant I worked out after asking to leave over probably an hour ago. I'd been feeling a strange headache earl

As soon as I got into the comfort of my room, I shut the door and plummeted into the floor. Hugging my legs into my chest, I faced down and tried to steady my breathing. I'd never expected to see Logan. At least not this soon and definitely not today. Everything continued to replay in my head. Walking out of the restaurant and seeing him standing there, watching me. It was disturbing.Seeing him standing there, his eyes fixed on me with mixed feelings that I couldn't even fix out. And then there's the pain I saw in his eyes that bugged me all night. What the hell happened? And then he was apologizing to me. Was he truly serious about that? I never knew him for someone who apologized for his wrongs, could Graziella be right about him being changed? But then again, a mere apology couldn't just throw all the things he has done to me away. He has taken my whole life away by forcing me to live with him while he abused me. That hardly seems easy to forget.Slowly picking myself up, I

As soon as I walked back into the main eating area, I'm stunned at the sight of Beverly, standing right next to the counter. She's dressed in a brown satin gown that has an interlocking V neckline that's dropping down her chest, revealing some cleavage. The dress is stopping above her knees, it's sleeves made puffy. Her curly hair is held back with a string at the nape of her neck, long stickly earrings running down her ear holes and reaching her shoulders.I don't think I've ever seen Beverly dressed so much before. She was always the busy jeans and blazers kind of girl. And she looked so beautiful.A bag is hanging off her shoulder and she's folding up her arms as she stood still." Beverly? " I called as I approached. She looks at me immediately and a smile spread across her face immediately. " Layla! "" Oh my God, " I quickly hugged her " it's so good to see you! "" Me too. "Letting go of her, I asked " how did you find your way here? I wasn't even expecting you today. ""

After spending nearly the whole day with Beverly talking about any and everything, she dropped me off a little past 4 p.m in front of my apartment building.By the time I reached my room, I was exhausted and barely moving and I just slumped on my bed and slept off. I was jerking up from the sound of my door bell ringing loudly, waking me from my deep slumber. That's when I realized that I was still wearing the shoes I'd worn out to Beverly's place and still had my handbag crossing my chest as I slept off.I groaned tiredly as I rose to my feet and muttered to myself about getting the door and needed a minute to reach it, not that the person standing outside it could hear it.I dumped my back on the bed and walked out to get the door. I pulled it open to reveal Ken, standing in flesh right outside my door. The little sleep left in my eyes instantly disappeared and I gaped at him. What was he doing here? There's a bunch of flowers in his hand, presented forward as soon as I pulled
