Dravin's POV Perfection, as they say, never lasts. It is, in fact, the most fragile concept that ever existed. The source of my joy soon became a scourge and a medium of anxiety to me. That anxiety grew into dependence and, finally, obsession.A crippling obsession over Irikah that quickly morphed into something a lot more sinister. Possession. As the finals of the tournament approached, the antics of the Pack members grew bolder. Their attempts to provoke me were less veiled, and my impatience and animosity grew with each passing day.So did my anxiety. There was only one more obstacle between me and the position of the Alpha's heir. Just one more fight until I achieved all I had wanted all my life.Prestige, acceptance, and respect.I knew it was also the hardest obstacle. My opponent, Valkir, was a victor in every sense of the word. One who would win regardless of the cost.I knew he was the one who urged these bastards to harass me. He wanted Irikah for himself, and he would do ev

Dravin's POV I felt tears trickle down my face as I recounted the painful memory of killing Irikah with my bare hands.Elora was silent, and deadly still."You killed her because she wanted to stay back and help you?""It was stupid. I know," I said as I wiped my eyes.It had been so long since I cried.I had resumed crying sometime during my story."Stupid?" she asked. "You think it was stupid? You murdered a woman that was trying to help you!""I wasn't in the right state of mind," I said slowly. "This is not to defend my actions. I lost everything on that day. I didn't want to lose her too.""So, you'd rather kill her?" Elora asked.Hearing that exposed the absurdity of my words. It laid bare my denial—that I made a mistake because I didn't want to lose Irikah. It wasn't even being obsessed with her.It was plain possession."Do you think she would have even bothered to go wait for you in the woods if she was going to betray you?" Elora asked. "I don't know what you expected, but

Ava's POV With my mind made up and my plan clear, there was only one loose end I needed to tie.Kael and my sister. It was high time I paid them a visit.I sent both Hannah and Aria to deliver a message to Alpha Cade on my behalf. It was time to honour their end of the deal. With my alliance idea, most of the small Packs around Cade's Pack had bounded together, and they've become quite the formidable force on account of their overwhelming numbers. With Old Man Alfred's support, any warmongers with their sights on them simply gave up.That included the Blood Moon Pack.Kael was too much of a coward. Now that I have guaranteed their safety, it was time to burn Blood Moon Pack to the ground. I have no good memories in that place and, therefore, no reason to feel any remorse for what I was about to do.With my aim clear and Lyanna beside me, I decided to set out to Alpha Cade, who must have received my message by now.I would hope that they have made preparations and are simply on standb

Ava's POV The vision blurred and the scenery changed into the streets of the Pack.Irikah was once again strolling through the streets with her signature smile plastered on her face. A smile that I once admired and pitied now horrified me.Her easygoing and benevolent demeanor now seemed extremely fabricated. So much so that I would have doubted if she actually loved Dravin if I hadn't experienced her emotions personally when around him.Unlike her family, she had absolutely nothing but affection for Dravin, which scared me more than anything else. How can someone so callous also possess the heart to love? It just seemed impossible. As she walked, I noticed a particular presence tailing her. He did his best to be discreet, but he obviously sucked at it. One look and I could tell that he was clearly following her.Irikah seemed to have realized that too, but she seemed undisturbed by this. I would imagine that it was only natural for her.Once she was done on the busy street, she moved

Ava's POV The Pack quickly grew silent to my heart as I watched Elora depart."What exactly was I doing?" I thought to myself. What did I want?To lose Irikah when I had just found her again?I regret what I did, but that doesn't invalidate my feelings, does it?I have suffered enough, haven't I?I spent seven centuries waiting for her.If there was ever a person who truly held the blame, it should be the goddess, shouldn't it?Why am I suffering for a game that damned bitch played? No!Irikah was mine.Regardless of who she has become, she remains mine!I am not giving her up for any reason."Soren!" I barked as I felt my eyes burn and freeze at the same time. This was a direct pull on the bond between us. A sharp tug on my blood within him. Regardless of where Soren was, he would heed my call. He would feel my urgency, and he would be by my side as quickly as possible.Just as expected, he was walking into my office within a few minutes, a grave look on his face."What is going on,
