Alle Kapitel von The Devil you begged for: Kapitel 51 – Kapitel 60

ISLA~•~It had been more than a week since my birthday party ended and today was my first day back at college. I’d been putting it off, convincing myself I could ignore the outside world but classes didn’t stop and deadlines wouldn’t wait for me. I couldn’t exactly disappear forever since it was my last year in school and I had less than two months left. Exams were coming up, and while sometimes, I just wanted to forget about school, one thing my parents wanted from me was a degree. I walked into the lecture hall, backpack on one shoulder. I hadn’t seen Sophia in the parking lot nor had I seen her in the hallways. I didn’t even know if I wanted to see her or not. She’d asked me for space. Was a week enough? As though my thoughts conjured her up, she appeared at the door. Her eyes scanned the classroom, settling on me. But she barely kept her gaze on me for more than a second. As though she didn’t see me sitting at the front of the hall, she walked past my seat. I watched as she wen

LORENZO~•~I watched her leave, my eyes unashamedly stuck on her ass. The tights she’d worn for the day’s training did nothing to help either.Ricardo was right. I was fucked.I had assured Ricardo it was a one-time thing. I had told Isla that now that sex was out of the way, we could focus on what really mattered so why the hell was I getting a boner for her?I had gotten too used to teasing her that I had forgotten the effect she had on me. I was too busy trying to get a reaction out of her to remember what being close to her did to me.While training, it took a whole lot in me not to push her against the nearest wall and kiss her senseless. I’d agreed to train her, hoping to exist in the same space as her for a few hours every day since she liked avoiding me, but it was only the first day and it was starting to backfire already. She already looked good. She looked even better in her gym wear. Being around her made me feel like a high school virgin.I was spending too much time at

ISLA~•~I’d left for school around seven in the morning, but since my second lecture got canceled, I was back home as early as eleven in the morning. The house was unusually quiet when I got home. It was even quieter than it was in the morning. The air was tense as though everyone was holding their breath. The guards stationed around looked stiff, eyes fixed straight ahead. It made me wonder if something bad had happened in the three hours I’d been gone.I got my answer a few seconds later. The door was closed but Lorenzo’s voice echoed from inside. “Who the hell authorized that drop?”I opened the door to the house, pausing when I caught sight of him in the living room, facing a few of his men.“I-I thought you said–“ the guilty one looked like he wanted to disappear into thin air.“You thought wrong.” Lorenzo snapped, cutting him off. He took a step closer to the man who had spoken and the man shifted back. “I said wait for my call. That shipment wasn’t supposed to leave the dock u

LORENZO ~•~ The first few days blurred. Work filled up the spaces she used to occupy. There were endless reports, endless calls, and endless files spread across my desk. I went through them one after the other, only stopping to eat or sleep. It worked for a while. Until it didn’t. The house was quiet. Too quiet in my opinion. I’d only brought two men along with me since I never planned to stay this long. I used to like quiet places until I came across Isla who didn’t fail to talk back whenever she could. “Boss,” Romano's voice interrupted my thoughts. I looked up at him. “The container had been cleared. They’re waiting for your approval to send it out.” I nodded, giving him the go-ahead. Romano was able to handle most businesses by himself but he always liked to report to me first. “Double the surveillance when it lands. Nikolai has his eye on my goods.” I’d crossed paths with Nikolai once after Isla’s birthday. He seemed to think I owed him for humiliating his brother. I coul

LORENZO~•~I had no intention of avoiding Isla when I came back, but it just happened. She was angry. That much I could tell. I could see it in the way she looked at me whenever we passed each other in the hallways. In the way she ate quickly whenever I was around. I couldn’t even blame her.I’d left without telling her and when she confronted me about it, my words had been harsh. It was only right for her to be mad at me.Besides, her anger was doing her good. In the month I was away, her stamina and core strength had improved. Her stance was great and she had learnt a few reliable strikes. She wasn’t perfect but with the way she was spending all of her time training, it wouldn’t be long before she would be.Even when Lucia wasn’t teaching her, she was practicing on her own. I wanted to interfere, but I wasn’t certain she would even listen to me.Regardless, I found my feet leading me to the training grounds. She wasn’t in her room nor was she in the study. I’d also checked the gym
