Selene’s POV I barely had time to blink before Dominic stalked toward me. His footsteps were steady, calculated. Cold. And yet, something about them made my breath catch. I backed away instinctively, my heels hitting the floor with soft thuds until my back pressed against the door. “Don’t,” I said, the word slipping out before I could stop it. He didn’t. His eyes didn’t leave mine, not even for a second. The space between us closed fast, and the warmth of his body melted into the fabric of my blazer. My heart beat faster too hard. “You shouldn’t be this close,” I whispered, my voice barely holding steady. He didn’t answer. Instead, he reached up and brushed his fingers over my cheek, slowly. His thumb moved under my jaw, lifting my chin just slightly until I had no choice but to look at him. “You don’t like anyone touching you,” he said, his voice low, almost too calm. “But you let me.” I swallowed, feeling the tremble in my own legs. “That doesn’t mean I want you to.”
