Ashley’s P.O.V. “No!” The ground tilted under my feet, my heart tearing open as though claws had ripped straight from my chest. My scream ripped through the night, raw, uncontrollable, drowning out everything else. I reached for his shoulders, shaking my head violently. “No! No, Vincenzo! Don’t say that. Don’t you dare say that!” But his eyes didn’t flicker, didn’t burn with the fire that threatened us. They stayed cold, deadened by the loss.
