Baron's Pov. Even though I'm not sure what complexity Bella was perpetrating on me, I had already arrived at the conclusion that I did not mind it at all. Whatever she hopes to gain doesn't matter to me because it doesn't change my decision about her... maybe it does. I no longer have any intention of hurting her or making her suffer. What purpose is that serving when she keeps yearning for me? "You know, sometimes I feel jealous of you, my dear friend."Andrew's voice jolted me back to the present, and I immediately turned to face him. I had been so engrossed in my thoughts of Bella that I didn't hear his footsteps nor smell his scent until he stood a few feet away from me. "You always have more women than dogs have fleas, which is quite a mystery considering your awful look.""I'm in no mood for jest, Andrew. Tell me, what do you think of Lady Cinderella?""Beautiful. Sophisticated and warm. She possesses a grace that is uncommon in women of her kind."That was exactly how Andre

I had been watching Baron through the window of the sewing room and was astounded by his skills. But the crowds had drawn nearer, blocking my view. So I had raced out of the room on impulse, my mission was to join the crowds watching the friendly fight between the two Alphas. That was a mistake because Baron immediately took notice of me, lost his concentration, and got hit, losing the bet. I knew he would never forgive me for that.Andrew's victorious gaze swept over the whole arena and then fell on me. "What do you think of the match, Lady Bella? This is the first time I will be winning against your lord, and it felt so good.""Impressive, lord Andrew.""I demand a rematch," Baron puffed with annoyance. "I will double my payment if I lose.""No... no, lord Baron. I am not a fool who thinks you can make the same mistakes twice. I would rather quit now that I'm on the winning side.""But you didn't win, did you?" I asked, facing Alpha Andrew."I did, my dear lady. And thanks to your

Bella's Pov. To get Baron, Damon, and that damn letter out of my mind, I went back to the auditing task my lord gave me. When I first discovered that the cook added a substantial amount to his final calculation, I had believed it was an error, and that the money would be carried over; I was wrong. The same thing happened the second month, the third month, and subsequently till the last month. Was the cook cheating his lord, or was Baron sending him to buy something he didn't want written down? Well, my job is to audit the account which I have done. Since Baron hadn't returned yet, I went back to bed, rolled from one edge to another, and then fell asleep when I had given up all hope of doing that. Baron was nowhere to be seen when I woke up the following morning, but the warmth of the mattress beside me showed he had spent the night on it and just stood up some moments ago. I crane my head to search for him, but he wasn't inside. My heart is slamming against my chest as I stand u

Cinderella's Pov. "Father!" I cried excitedly when my father stepped into my small chamber, " Good time to come to me, please come closer and sit beside me.""My sweet and beautiful daughter," Father pulled me into his wide chest as he said this. "Tell me why you look so full of life this morning. "I'm I that transparent? But then, I dont need to wonder so long, Father knew me both inside and out. "You haven't heard, have you?"He shakes his head, looking into my eyes and smiling back. "Tell me and stop keeping me in suspense, dear Cindy. I left the fortress earlier to look for something I so much have a use for.""Bella had been locked up in the dungeon, Father. Isn't that something we never think of?""Bella was locked up!" Father exclaimed, chuckled, and asked, "What was her crime?""Melissa accused her of stealing her trinket and tossed her into the dungeon. Isn't it surprising that someone like Bella would steal a cheap trinket?"Father looked suspiciously at me as he tried t

"Oh, Mistress Brenda. You nearly gave me a heart attack, " I said as I wobbled towards the expressionless-looking woman. "Melissa accused me of stealing her trinket, locked me up in the dungeon, and then tried to poison me."Mistress Brenda stiffened when I mentioned poison," You are exaggerating, aren't you? Melissa won't dare to do such an obscene thing. And where on earth will she see the poison?""I have no idea where she sees the poison, but you can ask Sarah if you think I made this-." I paused my speech, realizing Sarah can't talk, and so can't collaborate on my story. "That's the truth, Mistress Brenda. Moana here can testify to this as well.""Who would Moana support if not you?" Mistress Brenda snorted and then shrugged. "So you plan to run away, instead of waiting until Alpha Baron comes?""If she is not dead before then," Moana said stiffly. "Look, mistress, I knew of the attempt to poison her, but I came late to warn her. She would have been dead if not for Sarah's help.
