Chapter 51

Phoebe’s POV“I think we should break up.” I regretted the words that slipped out of my mouth. But it was too late. I had already said it. Lucas's face was as pale as white sheet.“What did you say?”“You heard me loud and clear,” I replied.“I’m not saying we should break the mate bond,” I added. “I just want…space.” Each syllable made my chest ache and my wolf, Selene whine in my head, protesting rigorously. “Is this a sort of prank,” Lucas asked. “You know it’s not,” I whispered. The world narrowed to just us, the noise around me disappearing. The horrified stares. Derek’s groans. Nothing else mattered anymore. “Are you in a sort of danger?” He asked. “No.”“You’re lying.”“I’m not.”“For fuck sake, your heart beat changes every time you lie.”I swallowed hard. Damn mate bond. “Please, leave me alone.”Lucas stared at me like he couldn’t recognize the person standing in front of him. His jaw tightened. “Look at me and tell me you don’t love me anymore.”My throat burned.

Chapter 52

Phoebe’s POV When it was exactly 5pm, I picked up my bag. My gaze swept through the room, lingering on Aurora’s ugly writing on the wall. BESTIES FOREVER. A small smile formed on my lips as memories flooded my mind. The way she had placed her hand on her hip, pushing out her chest as if she had just created a masterpiece. “You’re impossible,” I had told her. “Yet you love me,” she replied, before jumping on the bed. My fingers brushed softly against the wall. Every corner reminded me of what I was going to lose. Eric sneaking through my window with that annoying smirk on his face. The way my face lit up at the sight of Lucas. Everything. My grip on the door handle tightened. Suddenly, it was difficult to breathe. The room felt smaller, as if it was begging me not to leave. With a deep sigh, I dragged my feet, walking away. The moment I stepped outside the school gates, my vision blurred. I couldn’t help but stare at the building one last time. Crimson Moon Acad

Chapter 53

Lucas’s POV Suddenly, my chest ached, feeling like razors slashing at my heart. Lucian, my wolf, roared, intensively clawing against my chest like he wanted to come out. “What’s happening?”“Mate! Mate!” Lucian howled. My stomach dropped. “Phoebe!” I called out, jolting out of my bed. “Lucas, I wish I could tell you. But I can’t.” Her voice rang in my head. The way she looked broken, as if carrying the world behind her shoulders. I knew she was hiding something. But I hope it’s not what I’m thinking. My door bursted open violently, Aurora’s flushed face coming into view. Her chest heaved, her breathing coming out as ragged gasps. “Lucas,” Aurora panted, looking like she just ran a marathon race. “Phoe..Phoebe…she’s gone.”Colour drained from my face. “What do you mean she’s gone?” I asked, standing up abruptly. “She’s no longer in the school.”My heart sank. “She told me she was leaving,” Aurora continued. “But I didn’t know it will be this soon.” “What?”“I’m sorry I didn’

Chapter 54 : The Journal filled with secrets Lucas’s POVIt had been two days. Two days without Phoebe. My wolf and I were losing it. Each second without her felt like I was breathing in fire. The room was as silent as a graveyard, the air thick with tension. “So what’s the plan?” Aurora asked.I sighed, my fingers pushing through my hair.“I-I don’t know.”“Eric did say the answers we seek lies with Mr. Grim Reaper,” John uttered.“Yeah. But the problem now is…how do we get it from him?”“Maybe we could ask…nicely?” John suggested. Before he could say more, Aurora shot him a disapproving look. “Try to think with your brain, not your butthole.”Their voices faded into nothingness, the thought of her invading my mind.I hadn’t slept. I couldn’t.Because everytime I closed my eyes, all I could see…was her. Somewhere out there, Phoebe was all alone. No. I can’t just fold my hands and watch. I have to do something. Then, a crazy idea popped in my head.“What if…what if we could

Chapter 55

Lucas’s POVSilence. Nobody spoke. John’s face had gone completely pale. “That’s impossible,” he whispered.“One person can’t erase an entire race.”None of us believed our own words. Because the journal was right before us.Written by Mr.Grim Reaper. And if Felicia truly wiped out the vampires…Then Phoebe wasn’t traveling with her mother…she was traveling with a monster.A sudden cold swept through the room. The journal flipped rapidly on its own.“That’s not normal,” Aurora whispered, taking a step back. Then, a page turned on its own.An invisible ink made new words.Too lateMy brows furrowed. Too late for?Aurora grabbed my arm. “Lucas…we need to leave. Now!”But I couldn’t move. Because one sentence was forming at the bottom of the page. The girl belongs to her.My heart dropped. Was it referring to…Phoebe? Then, we heard footsteps approaching. My body went cold. “We’re dead meat,” Aurora whispered. “Guys, hide,” I said, my voice barely audible. I hid under the desk.

Chapter 56

Phoebe’s POVI knew this day would come. The day I had to go back to the pack. The moment Felicia and I stepped foot into the pack ground, memories I thought I had buried came rushing in. That night where I had stood in front of the entire pack and was declared wolfless. How could I forget the look of distain and ridicule that flashed in their eyes? The whispers that made me lower my head in shame. “She’s cursed.”“She’s too powerless and doesn’t deserve to be in our pack.”I swallowed hard, curling my fists into a ball. I was no longer that weak and helpless girl anymore. Looking around, everything looked the same, exactly just as I remembered. It seemed like I was the only thing that was different. Felicia stopped in her tracks. “What’s wrong? You look distracted?”I shook my head slowly. “Just a bit of memories.”“Painful ones,” she replied. “You know that night, I was there.”My brows knitted into a knot. “So you watched your own daughter being ridiculed and humiliated. You wa

Chapter 57

Phoebe’s POVFor a moment, neither of us spoke. I searched his face, looking for the man I had spent years trying to please. The man whose approval I had desperately wanted. My chest squeezed painfully when I remembered how he had looked at me with so much disappointment when I couldn’t shift. He stood there and watched the entire pack mock me. At least, Felicia had an excuse, what was his?The more I looked at him, the more I realized he looked older even though it had only been a few months. There were faint lines around his eyes and his shoulders weren’t as straight as before. For one stupid second, I felt maybe he had actually missed me. Maybe he had started caring about the daughter he had abandoned after remarrying. He took a step toward me. “Phoebe…” His voice cracked slightly. I didn’t move, just stood there, staring at him. Then, his gaze moved away from me to Felicia and his expression changed. A flicker of fear crossed his features but it disappeared almost immediately,

Chapter 58

Phoebe’s POV Jones looked around as if scared someone could walk right through the door. “Listen to me,” he said, his voice barely audible. “Never reveal your powers.”“My powers?” I repeated. What did he know about it?I cocked a brow. “Wait. Are you trying to tell me you knew all along?”He sighed, squeezing his eyes close. “You knew and you made me think I was worthless all these years?” My voice cracked. “I had believed something was wrong with me. I watched everyone shift while I couldn’t feel the presence of my wolf. They mocked me, bullied me. They called me cursed. And what did you do? You did nothing!”A flicker of hurt and guilt crossed his features. “You won’t understand.”“Then make me!” I snapped. “Everyone keeps telling me the same thing. I never wished for this. The least you can do is to tell me.”“It’s not as easy as you think,” he replied, avoiding my gaze. “I kept you in the dark all these years to protect you.”I scoffed. The same bullshit Felicia always said. “

Chapter 59

Phoebe’s POVI walked into my room and my vision blurred with tears. I had too many memories here. Good memories. This was the only good thing that remained even when Felicia left. Despite Rebecca and Stella’s persuasion, Jones never gave up the room. A little part of me had believed it was because he cared. The old Phoebe had clung to that tiny bit of hope. Looking around, the room was surprisingly still clean. Everything was still in its place, from the books on my shelf to the neatly arranged bed. It was as if someone had taken care of it every single day. Could it have been father? I shook my head. Even if he did, it still wouldn’t change the fact that he was a bad father. Felicia’s words rang in my head. “It was because he was afraid, afraid of what you’d become.” “He sees you just as everyone does. A monster.”There was a dull ache and tightness across my chest as I thought about her words. Now it all made sense. Jones didn’t change because he remarried, he changed because h

Chapter 60

Phoebe’s POVI resisted the urge to split her blood, my eyes reverting back to the usual hazel. A smirk played on my lips as I looked at Stella who was vibrating like a smartphone on a marble countertop. Who would have thought this day would come?“I’ll say this for the very last time, stay away from me,” I warned. Stella couldn’t even speak, neither could she look me in the eye. Her face was as white as a sheet, her lips trembling. Without saying another word, I turned around and walked away. That should teach her some manners. I wasn’t in the least bothered that Stella would tell anyone what she saw, because she wouldn’t. Why? Because of her enormous ego which was bigger than the entire pack house. And even if she did, they wouldn’t believe her. Who would believe the weak omega who could barely keep up with the speed of others, could suddenly scare the shit out of a beta?I knew Jason and others would be dead curious about what had transpired between Stella and me. Good. Let them w
