Chapter 32Phoebe’s POV “Oh no. Why are they here?” I thought to myself. Vivian exchanged a knowing look with Lucas’s father, a prideful smirk playing on her lips. “Time to end this,” she muttered, her eyes igniting with a golden glow mixed with a bit of red. “An alpha!” I whispered, sudden dread washing over me. It was obvious she could have ended the fight long ago, but she was waiting for something. Waiting for them. Before I could blink twice, she was behind me, her speed a blur. She grabbed me by my collar, before throwing me mid-air and kicking me off the arena’s circle. The world tilted, my vision blurring. Lucas’s father nodded in satisfaction, pride shining in his eyes. Behind him was Lucas. His hands were clenched into his fists and his jaw tightened. He stood up abruptly, but a strong grip on his shoulder, forced him to sit back. His face, a mask of conflicting emotions. The last thing I heard before darkness swallowed me was Aurora’s worried face. I could feel myself b

Chapter 34Phoebe’s POVWith her chin held high, Felicia walked towards me, each step, measured and purposeful. I watched her approach, a cold glint in my eyes. “Wait! Don’t tell me you paid those people to try to kill me,” I sneered, my gaze locked on her. “Of course not,” she retorted softly, her tone firm. “Why in the world would I do such a thing?” I glared at her with narrowed eyes, my brows rising with disbelief. Tension hung in the air, thick with unspoken accusations.“Let me guess. You were hiding in trees all along right? Watching a good show,” I spat, my hands clenched.“Yes,” she replied flatly, her gaze locked on a distant object. “I wanted to see if you’d be able to succeed.”A heavy, pregnant silence descended. “How did you do it?” She asked, breaking the silence.“Do what?” I asked, my voice barely audible.“How were you able to shapeshift into the silver wolf effortlessly. I never showed you how to do that.”“Well, I just did it. I believed I could.”“Hmmmm.” She exte

Chapter 36 : Reject her Lucas’s POV The day I had to make the decision was here, and my chest couldn’t help but tighten. My throbbing head banged so hard as if it was being hit by a hammer. I was torn between two decisions: choosing love over my responsibility or rejecting Phoebe to save my pack. The weight of the choices felt like two heavy stones pressed upon me. “Please, Moon Goddess,” I muttered a silent prayer, hoping it would somehow change my fate. “Help me.” Arriving at the tournament ground, ear-piercing and chaotic screams echoed. She looked more stunning and sexy when she fought. Stephen, a guy who was a legend in this school beside the Big Three, lunged, his moves, precise and measured. Then he paused, his beautiful green eyes tracing my lips. He drew closer, our lips just a few inches away. Then I shifted my face, the kiss landed on the left side of my cheeks instead of my lips. His gaze lowered, his mouth slightly opened in a stunned expression. “You don’t want this?” He asked, his voice barely audible. “I…I need time.”“You still care about him right?” I didn’t say a word, but the longing in my eyes said it all. Eric sighed, a weak, fleeting smile appearing on his lips. “Phoebe, I’ll wait for you,” he whispered, unwavering determination in his eyes. “No matter how long.” My breathing increased, my heart doing a little break dance in my chest. Then he placed my head on his shoulders, his fingers softly going through my hair. The smell of peppermint was faint, Lucas’s presence lingering in the ai

My shoulders tightened, my hands and feet trembling uncontrollably. “We have to win,” Serene said in my head, her voice laced with fierce determination.
