His body was bloodied, and his eyes glowed with open rage.I was surprised at the sight because I had feared Carter dead, and I had also never seen him so angry before.Carter killed one of the invocates in a brutal instant. It was a shocking scene when contrasted with Carter’s usual behavior. But I had no time to dwell on it. I pointed my gun towards the other invocates that had been holding Roman up.
