THORNE'S POV "When you said that we were having a meeting with the council, I didn't know you meant only one member." I mumbled to Peter as we entered the meeting room. I had sighted the Elder from far away, noticing only him on the seat without the others. "Well, now you know." Peter retorted, I rolled my eyes. It wasn't unusual for them to send just one representative and to be honest, if I had known they didn't consider the matter serious enough for all of them to show up, I probably would not have given it a consideration at all. "Alpha." The man rose up and bowed as I walked in. I took a deep breathe first, "rise." I ordered. It felt unusual. I had become so used to being a Beta that I didn't remember that being an Alpha also came with a lot of trappings. Like this one now, having a whole room bow at me just because I came in. "Thorne, meet Elder Jonathan Myrtle. Myrtle I'm sure you already know my Nephew?" Peter regarded him. "It wou

LYRA'S POV Thorne literally dragged me all the way from the restaurant back home. "Seriously, can you pause for a second?" I asked him panting as I ran to catch up with him. "No, I can't, Peter just sent me a message about…" he paused. "It's just pack related." He said waving it off. "And you can't tell me about it?" I queried. We never kept secrets from each other, but if he was going to start now, I might as well top him at it. "I can't Lyra, it might piss you off. Just get to your room, I would be with you in an hour l." He said and hurried along. I let out a deep breath and sighed. "Awwn, sad aren't you?" A voice came behind me. I turned around, whoever it was, I'm pretty sure they didn't want to risk pissing me off. I turned to find Kitty standing by the car, "it's okay, I thoroughly understand how you feel. I felt the same way too when he left me to go to Bloodmoon and now I feel even unhappier that he came back with a woman

THORNE'S POV "You said we were having a feast like it's gonna include the whole pack." Lyra nudged me with her elbow. "Ow." I groaned. "You've been doing a lot of that lately." "And you don't like it?" "Having to receive it in the same spot is what I don't like." I snickered. "I would keep that in mind next time I plan to nudge you." She smiled. "But seriously, why did you say this was going to be a feast?" She asked me. "Because it is, look right and left everyone is busy with their own food and now I realize we are the only ones not eating yet." I said. "You could have been specific in saying that the pack members weren't invited and just the council members would be present." She explained. "I would keep that in mind too, next time." I said picking up my fork. "A feast is just not a feast without enough people." She claimed. "Is that what you tell yourself?" I teased her. "No, certainly not." She said, then she took a bite of the steak in her plate. "But

SOPHIA'S POV "I'm surprised you had to listen to Lydia and not me." Duncan was already in our room when I got there and I didn't have to wait so I just asked him the question that was burning inside of me or rather that would help convince him that I had no hand in it. "I'm sorry it's just so hard believing things that come from your mouth." He replied, he stopped packing for a brief moment and turned to me. "Why did you tell Lydia about Ryan?" He asked me. "I just wanted her to know she has another sibling, shouldn't I have?" I wore my sweetest smile. "You shouldn't." He said. "And why is that? You want to hide him away from the rest of the family?" I questioned him. "That isn't what I plan to do and it's none of your business what I do, they just shouldn't know each other at all, okay." He yelled. "Alright, I would say no more and just get to packing up for our trip." I walked away slowly. "You're not coming with us." He looked at him. I stopped frozen in my

THORNE'S POV Peter brushed beside me in the packhouse of the Bloodmoon, "I didn't expect you to come so soon." I said looking at him. I didn't expect him to come at all. Yesterday had been awful, we ended up back at Bloodmoon at half past the hour and all I could say was Lyra couldn't feel herself. Contrary to Tank's words, Duncan wasn't at the pack house but he hadn't returned to the nIghtshade either. I would have wished I could get a hold of him last night even if it was just to lay a punch to his face. Some part of my gut just told me he had something to do with it, he couldn't possibly show up one afternoon and Ryan would get kidnapped same day. It was too much of a coincidence even though we knew Ryan was already at a risk of being kidnapped. "I didn't plan to either but you know the council came over again and they are surprised at your sudden absence. Put more accurately, they feel disrespected." Disrespected? Pfft, that wasn't even a word I would us
