CHAPTER 37ADRIANNA’S POVMy eyes snapped open, my breath hitching as I reflexively sat up on the bed I was lying on only to see myself in a strange, unfamiliar environment. Unlike the luxurious interiors with soft lighting, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling tinted windows, and expensive, timeless furniture I usually woke up in after blacking out, this one was way different, a stark contrast to the environment I was used to.The room was small and stuffy, with plain walls. Above, a weak light bulb hung from the ceiling, barely letting in any light. A fan with short blades rotated and made a grinding, rattling noise like it’d break down at any moment, barely circulating any air in the room.
