CHAPTER 31

ADRIANNA’S POV

Navigating the parts of the castle that the guard and I passed while going to the infirmary was relatively easy. But after I passed a few floors, navigation became a bit hard.

I wondered if that guard had realized his keys were missing by now. I wondered if he had rushed back to my room and realized that I was gone. I couldn’t help feeling a little bit of pity for him because Hermes will surely do something terrible to him like take him to the torture chamber for failing at his duties.

Sneakily and furtively, I was able to make it past some floors before reaching the last one which led to the main hall of the castle. Outside, night had fallen but was still young. If I successfully make it out of here in the next five to ten minutes, I could still be able to find my way.

Most of the maids had finished for the day and retired back to their quarters. But some of the guards, probably the ones on night shift, were still patrolling the castle as part of their job t
