Lahat ng Kabanata ng THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself : Kabanata 221 - Kabanata 230

ELIOT'S POV "Sir,""Everything all set?" I asked, calm. Eyes on the glass windows, the world outside. Busy and alive. Like there would be right now."Yes sir," John responded, appearing behind me. I felt his presence without even turning around. "Everything's in order, security checks installed at interval before reaching the hall, our selected news outlet prepared as well, everything in place. We'll get her if she nears the premises."Hmm."Good." I stepped away from the windows then. Heading back to my desk, my jacket coming on. John helping quietly. Slowly, as I took final checks of my look for the afternoon. For the event. The opening. Her opening."Sir," John called just before we left. "The lawyers... shouldn't we come up with something before that day? It's not far anymore, it's just in a few days time and-"No," I cut him off, grabbing my phones. "We don't need to do anything, we don't have to.""If we don't she might-"Divorce me?" I turned to him, "You also think she'll do

ELIOT'S POV First thing I saw after the sound of heels filled the air were in fact heels. Heels themselves. The upper part wrapped up and covered by the welcoming flow of a pastel pink high-waisted wide-leg trousers. Each step spreading out the radiant coloured trousers even more to the outside world, my eyes and most definitely to the audience as the model strutted out. I didn't even get the chance to take in the top part of her outfit, when another came walking out. This time no long trousers. Just heels. Low heels. Giving me the chance to appreciate the top part of the outfit as I skimmed quickly from the heels, legs, shorts that was right above the thighs. The waist, chest and finally the model's face. Only then did I see the rest of the outfit, from top to bottom. And honestly, I couldn't say I wasn't intrigued. Colored trousers paired with cream linen blazer, a silk camisole underneath in the same shade as the trousers. Pastel pink. Along with a gold waist chain detail ba

SERENA'S POV Splendid. Perfect. Magnificent! I could think of so many words to use to describe the beauty that was today. So many words, and still it wouldn't be enough. Frankly I couldn't believe it. The number of people that attended, the number of elites I recognised and didn't recognise. The number of sold outs we've recorded just this evening! I couldn't believe it. Which was weird right? I mean we did send out invitations in the first place, received positive feedback from most, and still I was surprised. I was surprised to see them all. "A lot of people are in attendance. You ready?" Axel had said to me before we even started. His presence and words a comfort, making me even more excited as he helped me strap on my heels. But as I went out on that stage at the end, on that runway, stood there. Staring at them all. Taking in everything and every corner, the chairs, tables, refreshments, VIP guests, media team, press... It was so much more than I imagined. So much

AXEL'S POV "Have you seen her yet?" "No, Mr. Lane. We've checked the inner and side hallways already." Hmm. "Maybe she went out." Fiona added, the recent add to the team. Serena's team. I had asked her to search around for a bit for Rena, alongside other few persons I'd asked around already. But still, no news. "She probably went outside. For air maybe." Air? I doubt that. She's been so engrossed and moving around in those heels to even remember to sit still for a bit. So getting air? That'll probably be one of her last line of thought. The very last, given how long the list was. Anyways, I just wanted to find her. Switch her shoes at least, I didn't trust those heels at all. They were too pin point for a pregnant woman, even if her bump hasn't started showing so much. I needed to find her. But I'd been at it for sometime now, maybe outside really was the solution. I headed there anyway, against my better thoughts. But what do you know. A few moments spen

Axel's POV She was asking me to leave. After all these, after...I looked at her. Really looked at her. Every part of me hurting, my mind a mess. But still I saw it.I saw how drained she was. How tired and somewhat out of breath... silently holding onto her waist from behind. Trying to breathe slow. Then instantly worry gripped me.Was she hurt? Did it hurt? Back there. Did she feel pain there? It was said back aches were common with pregnancy, and less stress was advised. Was she starting to have those aches now?She was stressed, wasn't she?Having to do this tonight after all the long weeks of preparing for her event. She was definitely stressed. She needed rest. So I should go.Let her be for now rather go face the main catalyst for all this mess tonight!I should go.I turned around then. Grabbing my jacket, keys, "I'll be leaving now," I said to her, quiet. "Please get some rest. Go to bed."She didn't respond. Didn't turn around either. So I left.Shutting her door and getti
