ROMAN'S POV:A few seconds after the call ended, I was still rooted to the spot, frozen in fact, unable to believe what I had just heard. If anything had happened to Nyssa, I would never forgive myself. There was no-one to blame but myself. If I had paid heed to their advice that we should leave New York as soon as possible, this wouldn't have happened. If I hadn't let my pride and ego get in the way of common sense and logical thinking, the call that had just happened wouldn't have happened. Fred Gatwick, sensing something was wrong, stood up, approaching me hesitantly and in the most cautious of manners possible. “Roman? Are you alright?”His voice brought me back to the present.
