Aiden’s POV The whiskey glass in my hand sweated against my palm. I swirled the amber liquid around, waiting. The phone rang, she picked up after the third ring. “Talia,” I said, letting my voice crack in just the right places. I dragged her name, letting it slur slightly. There was silence on her end, my chest tightened. It’s not that I was affectionate, no… I was angry. She had no right to act like this and make me wait like she was something special.
