Chapter 22: Wolf’s Truth Noah’s I opened my eyes, my head feeling heavy, like I’d been hit by a truck. The room was dim and familiar—the small bed, the plain walls, the faint, clean smell of cleaning supplies. I was back in Enzo’s mansion, not that suffocating locked room at Dean’s place. Flashes of last night hit me: the full moon, pain ripping through my body, Enzo’s voice telling me to hold on. But it was all blurry, like a half-remembered, terrifying dream. What happened? Why did it hurt so much? I tried to sit up, but something stopped me, a dead weight pinning my side down. My heart raced as I turned and saw a large, masculine hand draped over me. Enzo. He was fast asleep beside me, his face soft, almost peaceful in the dim light. My breath caught in my throat, and I lifted the blanket, slow and careful. My stomach dropped completely—we were both naked. Completely. Panic surged through me, and I screamed, kicking my legs out and shoving Enzo violently off the bed. He hit th

Chapter 24: Alpha’s Defiance Enzo’s I sat at the head of the long table in the council chamber. The elders and council members stared at me as if I were already on trial. The air was thick and heavy with their silence, and it pissed me off. Ren stood directly behind me, his scarred face completely blank, not offering a word. I tapped my fingers on the table. The sharp sound was loud in the quiet room. I chuckled, a low and bitter sound. “What’s with the silence?” I said, leaning forward. My eyes scanned every face in the room. “If you’ve got something to say, spit it out. You’re annoying me.” A gray-haired elder, his face lined and wrinkled, stood. His hands were shaking slightly, but his voice was steady. “Alpha,” he said, “word has been spreading among the pack. They are worried.” “They say you’re not acting like the Alpha we know. They are losing trust in you.” I slammed my fist down onto the table. The wood cracked loudly under the force of my hand. Everyone flinched.

Chapter 26: Schemes and Shadows Dean’s I sat on my bed, Stan’s head resting on my chest. His breathing was slow and steady. My phone was in my hand, the screen glowing with a message that made me chuckle, a sound that was low and sharp. Enzo was losing it, completely unraveling over that human mate of his, Noah. The kid was a puzzle to me; something about him pulled at me, and I couldn’t figure out the reason why. The door creaked open. I didn’t bother looking up, knowing exactly who it was without checking. “What are you doing here, Eric?” I asked, my voice cold. “We already made a deal. Or are you not satisfied with the terms?” Eric, the rogue leader, stepped into the room. His eyes were dark, and I saw a flicker of fear in them despite his tough act. He moved toward the bed, his boots heavy on the floor. “Don’t play games with me, Dean,” he said, his voice low and angry. “You promised me a way to take down Enzo. Your brother’s been a thorn in my side for years. But you haven’t

Chapter 28: Dreams and Bonds Noah’s I sat on the floor, my hand buried in the wolf’s dark fur. It was soft and warm, feeling like a heavy blanket I didn’t want to let go of. I couldn’t believe I was doing this—touching a massive wolf, Enzo’s wolf, Moses, and actually feeling… happy. I wasn’t scared anymore, not like before when I had run and hidden. I smiled slightly, my heart lighter than it had been since I was first brought here. “You’re pretty,” I said, my voice soft, meeting those glowing red eyes. “Can you stay like this? Just for a little while longer?” Moses lay down, his huge body settling heavily beside me, and I leaned against him, resting my head on his warm side. His warmth was steady and grounding. I closed my eyes, letting the feeling sink in deep. Was this real? Me, sitting here with a werewolf, feeling completely safe? It felt like a dream, but it was one I suddenly didn’t want to wake up from. … I was little, maybe five or six years old, running through a dark

Chapter 30: Echoes of Freedom Noah’s I sat in class, my pencil tapping repeatedly on the desk, trying hard to erase the image of Dean and Stan in the bathroom. Their faces, their voices, the casual way they had talked about me like I was simply a pawn in their game—it made my skin crawl with discomfort. I just wanted to feel safe again, but nowhere felt safe anymore. Not here at school, not at Enzo’s mansion, not even inside my own head. My phone buzzed quietly in my pocket, and I glanced at the screen. A text was from Ren: Something came up. I’m leaving. Go straight to the mansion. Don’t tell Enzo I left you alone. I read it again quickly, my heart racing with sudden excitement. Alone? I was free? I let out a quick, quiet burst of excitement, and a few kids turned to stare at me. “Sorry,” I muttered, my face hot with embarrassment, but inside I was buzzing with relief. No Ren, no Enzo watching my every move. I could breathe easily, just for a day. Then my phone buzzed again, ano
