CALISTAMy heart felt like it was going to explode in my chest. Even though I had been doing this for a couple of years, the panic and anxiety I always felt before and after a performance always remained. My eyes surveyed the bustling club, and of course, the extremely loud music and twinkling disco lights did nothing to ease the pit in my stomach. All it did was aggravate my discomfort. I wiped my sweaty hands over my black lace lingerie, well aware that my boobs and ass cheeks were hanging on display for the world to see, but there was little I could do about the situation.I should be used to this after working as a stripper at the Red Rose club for years, but I still wasn’t. All I wanted to do was go back to my crappy apartment and sleep for as long as I could, but of course, that wasn’t an option.I gripped the silver pole on stage with sweaty hands as my eyes darted to the stranger who watched me intensely. I couldn’t see his face clearly as a result of the bright lights, but

THORNE (Two weeks ago)My shoes echoed across the marble floors as I walked through the corridors of my company. I had barely even finished work when I was suddenly summoned by the queen mother and the elder council for an emergency meeting at the royal castle. “What is this about?” I asked my beta and right-hand man, Kellan, for the umpteenth time and his loud sigh didn’t give away his exasperation, then his furrowed eyebrows did.“I have no idea, but we are about to find out, aren’t we?” He replied curtly and I wasted no time shooting him an icy glare.“Watch your tone, beta.” I spat, instantly reminding him of his place and he bowed his head slightly.“I’m sorry, Alpha.” Kellan and I were werewolves along with an entire pack who lived at a great royal castle at the outskirts of Las Vegas. Although it was bizarre to think that a pack of werewolves lived in the same city as humans, we managed to conceal our identity from them for years without getting caught and this was not bec

CALISTAThe moment my eyes shot open, an excruciating pain shot through my head and my entire body. I let out a loud groan as sunlight filtered in through the windows, straight into my eyes.I shielded my eyes with my hands as my vision slowly adjusted to the light and that was when I noticed that I was in an unfamiliar room. My eyes darted around and I was simply astonished. The room was so enormous that I felt like I was being swallowed up. Its sheer size was so massive, it was bigger than my entire crappy apartment combined. The ceilings were extremely high, decorated in white and gold with beautiful chandeliers hanging from it. The entire room radiated luxury and grandeur and I wondered how I ended up in a place like this.I tried to remember what happened before I ended up here and then it slowly began to hit me. The stranger at the club. He was the last person I was with before I passed out.I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion as my eyes kept darting around the room. Did he b

THORNEI couldn’t believe this was happening to me. How could my mate be a mere human? A lowly stripper at that. Was this some kind of sick joke? A mistake? Did the moon goddess make a damn mistake? That had to be the case. I let out a frustrated sigh, running my fingers through my hair as I paced around my room. But why? How? How could she make a mistake?!There was no mistaking the fact that the stripper was my mate. The moment I buried myself inside her, I felt my wolf stir inside me, and for the first time in years, my wolf was awake. He was alive. After that, I made the biggest mistake of my life. I marked a human. I was so lost in the moment that I couldn’t resist the pull. I buried my fangs in her, and now, I was connected with a human for eternity. A dirty stripper. A sneer escaped my lips as my footsteps echoed around the room furiously. I was so doomed. Why did the moon goddess choose her?! Why was it a human of all things?! The sheer thought of being mated to a human cau

CALISTA I paced around the large room, completely lost in thought. How the hell did I get into this situation? Who was that strange man and why did he buy me? Most importantly, what did he mean when he called me his mate? Was that a kind of slang? Wasn’t that what British people called their friends? Was he british? I shook my head vehemently. No way. He didn’t have a British accent and we were not even friends so what was he on about?I contemplated running away several times, but the door was locked and it looked like it could only be open from outside. The windows were open, but if I attempted jumping outside, I would only fall to my death so it looked like I was now a prisoner here. From what I observed when I looked out the window, the building looked like a castle of some sort which was strange because I had never come across a castle in Las Vegas. Where in the world was I? My agitation increased by the second and every time I thought of escaping, I would remember Thorne’s

AVALONI had overheard the whispers, I had listened to the gossip, and I prayed fervently to the moon goddess that they were not true. They couldn’t be true.I couldn’t be Alpha Thorne’s chosen mate. The mere thought of it gave me intense anxiety and heartache. Now don’t get me wrong. Alpha Thorne was a great alpha who cared about his people deeply and would go to great lengths to protect his pack, but it was quite obvious that he would not make a great husband. He had the looks. He was tall, powerfully built, domineering, and extremely handsome, but personality wise, our great alpha was lacking. He was brash, abrasive, and could even be considered mean, and I honestly didn’t want that kind of man for a mate. But that was not the only reason. The main reason why I dreaded being Alpha Thorne’s mate was because I was in love with another, and unfortunately, the man who had stolen my heart was not any better. In a way, he was even worse than Thorne as his face was always emotionless,
