Los Angeles was a very welcoming city. The people were extremely friendly and the weather wasn't harsh either. Just as the housing agency promised, in two days I had gotten an apartment that fit my preference and budget. It was a two bedroom apartment on the third floor of a five storey building. It wasn't really big but it was convenient for me, the view from the balcony was really beautiful as well. I didn't have to do much because the apartment was fully furnished already, all I had to do was a bit of cleaning and I moved in my luggage. My remaining stuff from Marcus's house hadn't arrived yet. “Have a seat, Sienna” CEO Dante offered, and he was sounding rather polite, which seemed surprising to me. I took a seat without any further talk. Silence engulfed the room for a moment and there he was again, staring directly into my eyes and I couldn't look away. His eyes were so charming, I couldn't resist but look back into them. His stare was uncomfortable but soothing at the same time, it threw me into my wildest fantasies. “Here you go”, he said, dumping an envelope on the table. I was hit with an immediate flashback of the night with Marcus, the divorce papers and all that. I took deep breaths to ease off but I couldn't help it. Everything felt fresh in my heart again, I felt a tear drop down from my eyes and I immediately wiped it off with the back of my sleeve hoping Dante hadn't noticed but it was too late. “You are such a beautiful young lady, my son is really lucky to have you in his life”, Dante's mom said as we walked off to the shore of the beach. I was completely trapped in my head, praying to not do or say anything wrong. I was worried she'd ask me questions that I wouldn't be able to give answers to considering the extremely short period of time I've known Dante. “You see dear, I was always scared my son would end up alone as he always wanted, it would have broken my heart to see him do that. He may not tell you this, but Dante had a very odd childhood and that affected him badly”“Odd? I got back to the room with a first aid kit and Dante wasn't there anymore. I looked in the closet and he wasn't there either. I thought he may have gone into the bathroom but there was no sign of him there. I placed the first aid kit on the drawer and went to the balcony to check if he was there. “Melinda, I don't want to have this conversation with you anymore. I will tell you where to meet me tomorrow, you can't be coming to my house anymore, I have a wife now and I most certainly don't want any trouble with her or my mother” I heard him say over the phone.‘Who is Melinda?’ I wondered.
