“Are you alright? Should I take you to the hospital?” Dante asked as he passed me a glass of water to drink. I had made a mess in the bathroom. I don't know if that was as a result of my rush of emotions earlier or if it was just all part of the pregnancy. “No, I'm good” I responded uninterested in having a conversation with him. “Alright good, cause this isn't an ideal time to not be fine” I had no idea what the hell he meant by that but before I could put my thoughts together, he blurted out. “I thought of a plan”“What? What plan?” I asked “Something to feed the media, clear off this scandal and get them off my tail for a bit” he said, stroking his chin. “We'd announce your pregnancy”“What the hell?” I said, spitting out the water I attempted to swallow while he spoke. “I signed this contract, not my baby, I'm the one you're working with. Are you insane? And so what if people know you had an affair with someone else. Oh sorry you're having an affair with someone else, and

Something about this man standing right in front of me felt right, I couldn't explain the feeling but being around him and sharing these moments gave me peace, a type I never felt when I was with Marcus. I felt his warm lips crash against mine and I couldn't hold back. His kiss was so soothing, I couldn't push myself away even though I really wanted to. His hands ran through my hair and my waist and his touch felt so magical. “Sorry, I'm so sorry, I don't know what I was thinking” he said, pulling away from me. I needed the words to say, it's alright, I also wanted to but I just remained silent. “I think we should leave” he said and he walked away ahead of me while I trailed behind him. It was a very awkward moment Walking back into the house because he kept his distance from me. ‘I shouldn't have let him’, I thought to myself. I promised myself I wouldn't get into any entanglements with him and here I was doing the complete opposite. I couldn't entirely blame myself, he had a h

Two months had gone by and Dante and I were in completely separate spaces. I had gotten used to his absence and it had become a very contractive relationship as it should have been originally from the start. We no longer shared a bedroom, we no longer had meals together, he no longer went to the doctor's appointments with me and I had gotten used to all of it. We attended functions together, fake smiles for the cameras and gave the whole world a show every single time and as promised I got paid every week. Missy had become a huge part of my life and I appreciated how much she turned up for me. Most times she would tease me saying it should be my husband doing all these things for me and not her but I always shrugged off the conversation by telling her he was just such a busy man. As the pregnancy grew, I was more worked up and stressed out often. I couldn't wait to have my baby and get the pregnancy over with.I wasn't particularly happy about how Dante switched up on me, I didn't h

I had made up my mind to let go of any attachments I held in my heart towards Dante, I just wanted us to live like normal humans, I wasn't interested in being a part of his life, I tried to convince myself so. “Goodmorning, breakfast is almost ready” I informed him to prompt him to get out of bedHe looked like an absolute mess, his sleepy face, swollen and plushy red. “What's for breakfast?”, he asked, his deep morning voice sending goosebumps all over my skin. “Come see for yourself” I responded, raising his curiosity. He walked behind me as I headed back to the kitchen.“Vegan sandwich? Are you kidding me? Why would anyone want to eat that?” He asked with disappointment. “Trust me, this is really good and you know you need to eat healthy as often as you can” I told him. He took a seat by the counter and watched me as I served out the food onto a plate for him. “I'm really not eating this, can I just have the coffee alone?” he asked.“Yes of course z you're eating this. You h

In about thirty minutes, the food was ready and I must confess it tasted extremely good. Even way better than mine. Dante went out afterwards and I stayed in and tried to rest some more. Missy stopped by briefly to check up on me and we discussed the schedule for the next day and that was it. I hurriedly rushed to the bathroom to shower quickly, I had missed my alarms and I was already late for work. The house was dead silent, I had no idea if Dante came back home the previous night or if he left to work early. I got ready and headed for the office. I had to make a quick stop at the laundroMat to get help taking off a stain from the shirt I wore the previous day. I spilled some Pasta sauce over it accidentally and even with my attempts to wash it off, it didn't budge. I dropped the shirt off with the Laundromat staff. Walking back to my car, the sound of loud car horns blazed my ears terribly and the brightness of the scorching sun blurred my vision. “Hey! Look out”, I heard some s
