Sienna's POV The clock in the living room had already struck ten at night. The house was really quiet.I was sitting alone on the sofa staring at the cup of tea I had made two hours ago. It was now completely cold. The television was on. I was not really watching it.My eyes kept looking at the wall clock. Then at the front door. There had been no news, no messages and no phone calls from Liam.I had unlocked my phone hoping to see a message from Liam. The screen remained empty.Liam always kept me updated, no matter how busy he was. That has changed over the past few weeks.I held my phone tightly. Was I thinking much about everything? Has something really changed with Liam?I remembered what happened a day ago. Liam walking out of the bar was still clear in my mind. The young woman who had hugged him was hard to forget. So was her name.Wilona.I close

Sienna's POV"I don't want you worrying too.” Those words only made my smile turn bitter."That's what you always do. I may not be able to solve your company's problems, but at least I can stay by your side."Tears finally rolled down my cheeks."I've already lost Noah. I know what it feels like to face everything alone. I don't want you to go through that too."I watched Liam's jaw tighten. He looked as though he were struggling to keep his own emotions under control. His hand slowly lifted as if he wanted to wipe away my tears, but it stopped halfway. Only a few steps separated us as I looked straight into his eyes."Is it really just work?"Liam frowned immediately."What do you mean?"I bit my lower lip. The question I had kept buried for so long finally escaped my lips."Or Have you actually been seeing another woman?"The room fell into complete silence. Liam's expression immediately turned sharp."Sienna." His voice was

Liam's POVThe bedroom door slammed in front of my face. The sound still rang in my ears even after I stopped walking in the hallwayI closed my eyes. Rubbed my face with both hands. The tiredness I had been holding back since the morning was now mixed with feelings I couldn't explain."Good grief." I took a breath. "Today was a disaster."No, the last few weeks have felt like a nightmare.I dropped onto the sofa in the living room. The house was quiet again. This time the silence felt tight and hard to breathe.I leaned my head against the back of the sofa. I closed my eyes. The fight we had just had played over and over in my head."Is it really just work? Is it because you're meeting another woman?"I clenched my fists. Why would Sienna think that?Throughout our marriage after losing Noah I had never given her a reason to doubt my faithfulness.

Liam's POVI looked at the laptop screen. Didn't really read anything on it. Sales charts, reports and investment projections all looked like meaningless lines and letters.I had been looking at the page for almost fifteen minutes but my mind was not at the office. My thoughts were at home behind the bedroom door that stayed shut.I could still remember how I knocked on that door several times that morning. I could still remember calling Sienna's name and getting no answer. The feeling kept coming. I didn't even know if she had had breakfast, if she had cried again after I left or if she had gone to the foundation.I rubbed my head. Maybe I was really to blame because I had been so busy protecting the company that I had forgotten to protect her feelings. To me all the overtime, meetings and pressure at work were part of my job.. To Sienna maybe all of it just looked like a distance that kept growing between us

Liam's POV"You shouldn't have to go through everything by yourself."I looked at Wilona. She smiled in a way."I might only be an intern. If you're confused or just need a place to talk so your brain doesn't feel so full I'm here to listen."I gave her a smile. "Thank you.""Even if I can't give any answers.""That's still something, Sir." she said with a joke. "Sometimes all people need is someone to listen to."I didn't say anything because I knew the person I wanted to hear from right now wasn't Wilona. It was Sienna.I wanted to go and sit with her. I wanted to explain everything from the beginning.I wanted to tell her about the company, the pressure at work, the clients and the man who had been bothering Wilona. I wanted to explain the hug she had seen and every misunderstanding that had slowly become a wall between us.There was something I realiz

Sienna's POVI don't know how long I have been locking myself in the bedroom. The curtains were still completely shut, letting only a thin line of sunlight come through the space between them and land on the wooden floor.I sat with my back against the headboard. My legs curled up close to me. My phone was lying on the nightstand completely ignored.Since Liam left that morning I had no desire to do anything. My stomach felt empty. My mind was more full than ever. All the things we had said to each other that night kept playing in my head. I closed my eyes, aware that I shouldn't have yelled at him like that.Still I couldn't act like everything was okay. What hurt the most wasn't the fight itself. The understanding that we no longer knew each other.Liam and I had always promised to face every challenge. Now I didn't even know what the problem was.I let out a sigh. Then my phone. I looked at th

Sienna's POV"Noah." His name came out of my mouth as a whisper and I quickly wiped the corner of my eye. This was not the time to cry, especially while I was driving. The traffic light turned red again, stopping my car. I looked around at the vehicles while taking a breath trying to calm my emotions.Suddenly my phone, which was in the compartment next to the dashboard, started to vibrate. I looked at the screen and Liam's name appeared. My heart beat a little faster. For a second I just stared at the screen wondering if I should answer.Maybe he wanted to explain the fight we had. Maybe he wanted to say sorry or maybe something bad had happened at work. The phone kept vibrating. Before I could reach for it the traffic light turned green. I started driving and the call ended.A seconds later a message came in. I didn't open it because I didn't want to know what he had written. Because I wasn't r

Sienna's POV Rafa's condition had improved by late afternoon. He was no longer suffering from high fever, although it had not totally subsided. His face was starting to regain color once more, and he requested chicken porridge for his lunch.Upon seeing that, I was able to exhale in relief. "Rest well, all right?" I stroked Rafa's hair. "Tonight, I will call Rina to see how you are doing."A nod from Rafa. "Yes, Mrs. Sienna." His weak smile helped lighten my burden.I left the clinic and saw some volunteers organize the night duty schedule. "If anything happens, let me know right away.""Yes, Mrs. Sienna."I nodded slowly. Today certainly reminded me that aside from love and affection, the children need the attention towards their health needs. My eyes fell on the medicine cabinet located on the corner of the clinic. The inventory of medicines was beginning to decrease; there were just a few strips of fever medicine left, with children's vitamins almost

Sienna's POV"I will say you are right. It is very exhausting. But whenever I see their smiling faces, all that exhaustion becomes insignificant."The cashier smiled. "I hope your foundation will continue to grow, ma'am.""Amen."I turned my attention back to the things the cashier was scanning. There really were many things: from food and drinks to fruits, vegetables, kitchen stuff, cleaning things, and medicines. When I saw how much I had to pay, I was not surprised. I knew I had to pay a lot from the very beginning.I took my credit card out of my purse and gave it to the cashier. After the transaction was finished, several employees started to put the things into shopping bags."Don't mix this one with food, please," I said, pointing at the bag of medicines."All right, ma'am.""Please, separate fruits and vegetables as well."“Yes, ma’am.”I gave a faint smile. As soon as I was done with everything, I began collect

Sienna's POVAfter putting all the groceries in the trunk, Joshua started closing it. "There, it is all done."I released a relieved sigh. "If it wasn't you, I would still be picking up oranges."Joshua laughed. "Surely."I laughed along too. I couldn't remember when was the last time I laughed this calmly. Joshua took a glance at the trunk that was filled up."Wow, that is a lot. All for the foundation?"I nodded. "Yes. Food, vitamins, and medicine. One of the kids had a fever today, so I wanted to buy all that I need while I'm here."Immediately after, Joshua's face took on an admiring look. "You care about them."I smiled. "They feel like family to me."Joshua nodded slowly. "They are lucky to have you."I gazed at him. "I am the lucky one. I got the opportunity to meet them."Joshua smiled sincerely. We were silent for several seconds until he gazed up at the orange-colored sky."Miss Sienna.""Yes?""Do you dri
