Evelyn's POV Well, I arrived early. Which, in hindsight, might’ve been the only fortunate turn of events today. Cam had the wherewithal to bring Lottie to a hospital somewhat near my workplace, rather than that dreadful little box they call a clinic back in Lexxton. Quite clever of him, for once. At least I didn’t have to contend with a two-hour traffic jam. I park my car and race into the building. “I’m here for Charlotte Piers,” I tell the receptionist, arching a brow ever so slightly. She gives me a nod, clearly overwhelmed, and points me to the ward. I thank her politely, although she could’ve done with a smidge more grace.
