“What are you doing here alone, again?” he asked, his voice calm. “I’m… I’m only resting and taking in some fresh air, Alpha,” she responded. “You should go to bed. Tomorrow, you train to join the Shadow Warriors,” Kael said, his voice deep yet calm. “Yes, Alpha,” Aria responded. She stood still, her head bowed, waiting for the Alpha to walk out before she did, but he didn’t. “Go on,” he said, after he realized she was waiting for him to leave. “I want to watch you leave,” he added.
