Chapter 61

Caspian's Pov The entire house felt cold without her. Nyx’s scent still lingered faintly in the room, soft and haunting, and every time I caught it, my chest tightened like someone had driven a blade into it. I sat behind my desk, my hands pressed against my temples. My mind was in chaos. Why didn’t I just say it? Why didn’t I tell her the truth? That I could love her. That I already did. That she owned me and that she had my heart. Now she had left me. And when she did, I felt like it was a goodbye for good. I knew I had hurt her. And even though I knew where she went, I was respecting her decision. I couldn't even stop her when she left. I watched her from my office window as she entered Kyle's car. When Kyle had returned, he had told me to go get her back but I ignored him. I needed to make sure I wouldn't hurt her again. I needed to make sure I was worthy of her before I would go to her. I was sure of that now. The knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts. “Come

Chapter 62

Caspian's Pov Around me, my warriors lifted their heads and howled, one after another. Their voices rose like a storm, filling the battlefield with raw power and loyalty. “Caspian”, my wolf whispered inside me, his voice deep and wild. “They see us. They follow us. Lead them. We're one again.” I stood tall, my beast form towering over the others. My claws were sharper than steel, my fur dark as night, my eyes glowing blood-red. And across from me, I saw it. Zade’s golden eyes widened. For the first time, there was fear in them. He shifted back into his wolf form instantly, his paws digging into the ground as he backed away slowly. His warriors closed around him protectively, forming a barrier. But I could smell his fear. I could taste it. I bared my fangs. “Alpha!” Kyle’s voice boomed behind me, rough but strong. “You’re back. You’re whole.” I growled low, my beast responding more than my words. "She did this," I thought. "Nyx did this. I knew she was the one." "Took you

Nyx's Pov This particular library always felt safe to me.Quiet, calm, tucked away from the storms that raged outside in the real world.Ryker walked beside me, hands stuffed in his pockets. His face was relaxed, but I could see that sharp watchfulness in his eyes that never really left him. He was always on guard. Always ready.I had worn a hoodie to shield my face from everyone so that they wouldn't be able to recognize me, that is if they knew my face. When we stepped into the library, I noticed immediately that Miss Elsie wasn’t behind the counter. Instead, a young girl with long brown hair sat there. She looked up as we entered, and her eyes landed on Ryker. She froze. Her lips parted a little. And then she just stared.I couldn’t help it as I laughed at the sight.Ryker frowned and glanced at me. “Whats so funny?” “Nothing,” I said, smirking as I looked at the girl. “But I think you just made someone’s day.”The girl snapped out of it quickly, cheeks turning pink. She stood an

Caspian's Pov The phone rang in my hand, the name flashing across the screen. "Nyx?" I murmured, my chest tightened, a rush of relief pouring through me just seeing her name. I pressed it quickly to my ear the second she answered.“Hello?” her voice came, soft, almost trembling.I closed my eyes, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I could breathe. “Nyx,” I whispered. There was silence on her end, but I knew she was there. I could feel her. The bond between us might have been tested, stretched, even broken in places, but it was still there. It had always been there.“How are you?” I asked finally. My voice was low, gentle, more vulnerable than I usually allowed myself to be.“I’m alright,” she replied, and I heard the honesty in her tone. Not perfect. Not healed. But alive. Breathing. And for now, that was enough. We didn’t speak for a moment after that. The silence wasn’t awkward. It wasn’t heavy. It was… comfortable. Familiar. Like just hearing her breathe was enough

Chapter 65

Zade's Pov Pain was the first thing I felt when my eyes opened. My chest burned, my ribs screamed, and the cut across my side ached every time I tried to breathe. I groaned, turning my head slowly. The ceiling above me was white, the smell of herbs thick in the air.I was in the healer’s hospital.“Finally awake.”The voice came from the corner. I forced my eyes to focus and saw Draven sitting there, arms folded, his golden eyes sharp and steady on me.“What… happened?” I rasped, even though I already knew the answer.“You lost.” His voice was flat, blunt. “Caspian put you down.”The words cut deeper than any wound in my body. Rage surged inside me, making my fists clench even as pain shot through my side.Caspian.His beast had returned. I saw it with my own eyes before I blacked out. He had shifted. He was terrifying and strong. And that was something I would not admit to anyone. And I had been the one to face him.“You should be dead,” Draven said after a moment, leaning forward.

Chapter 66

Nyx's Pov I couldn’t stop smiling. The phone call still echoed in my mind, every word Caspian had said replaying again and again like a song I never wanted to forget."You’re it for me, Nyx. And I love you. Just wait for me."My chest was full. It was overflowing with warmth, with hope, with something I had been too afraid to let myself dream of. For so long, I thought he would never say the words. And then tonight, he had. Without hesitation. Without fear. He had told me the truth.Caspian loved me, and he was coming.I sat on the edge of the couch, my hands clasped tight together, my lips curved into a smile I couldn’t hide no matter how hard I tried. Ryker's small cabin in Peaches Valley suddenly felt too small for the size of my heart.“Nyx.”I looked up quickly at the sound of Ryker’s voice. He stood by the doorway, watching me with curious eyes. His brows furrowed slightly, as if he was trying to piece together the sudden glow on my face.“He’s coming,” I whispered, my smile wi

Chapter 67

Caspian's Pov I stood in my room, pulling on my jacket, folding the last strap of my boots. Tonight was the night. My heart beat strong, steady, full of fire. I was going to Peaches Valley. I was going to bring Nyx home.Kyle had already made sure the men were prepared. I had given him every order, quietly and carefully, because no one else needed to know. I wanted to keep her safe, keep her return close to my chest. The fewer people knew, the better.I turned toward the table where my sword rested. My fingers brushed over the blade, polished, ready. I couldn’t help the small smile tugging at my lips. Soon, Nyx. Soon. Then, a knock came at the door.I frowned, straightening. It was late. No one came to my room at this hour.“Who is it?” I called.“It’s me, Alpha,” came a soft female voice.I blinked. I recognized it. The maid. The girl I had rescued months ago in the forest, the one who had almost been…I opened the door, and there she was. She bowed quickly, holding a tray. On it sa

Chapter 68

Zade's Pov The woods were silent except for the crackle of fire a distance away. Shadows moved between the trees, my men sharpening blades, checking chains, waiting for my signal.Kiera stood a few steps ahead, her back straight, her long hair catching the dim light of the moon. Draven was at her side, calm as ever, but his eyes glowed faintly, the same way they always did when he was about to spill blood.I leaned against a tree, my arms folded. My heart beat steady, full of excitement. Tonight was the night. Then a faint sound broke the silence.Kiera’s phone buzzed. She pulled it from her pocket, looked at the screen, and smiled.“Answer it,” I said, my voice low.She already was. “Yes,” she said softly into the phone. She listened for a few seconds, then her smile stretched wider. “Good. Very good. I knew I was right to trust you.”Her tone was dripping with satisfaction. Then she ended the call, sliding the phone back into her cloak. She turned toward me, her eyes sharp, burning

Chapter 69

Caspian's Pov Three days. That was how long it had been since Zade and Kiera had walked into my home like they owned it. Three days since I had told Nyx I was coming for her. Three days since my world had flipped into a nightmare.Three days of endless torture. My beast howled inside me, clawing, thrashing, begging me to let him out. But he couldn’t come. He couldn’t fight. Not with wolfsbane and nightshade flooding my system. The poison was in my blood, in my lungs, in every breath I took.My skin burned. My chest ached. My veins felt like fire. And still, all I could think of was her.Nyx. My love. How was she? Was she safe? Was she still waiting for me? My chest twisted at the thought that she might think I had abandoned her. That she might believe I had lied that I loved her and I was on my way. I wanted to scream. I wanted to break these chains. I wanted to claw through the walls and run to her.But I couldn’t move.I had been slipping in and out of consciousness for three day

Chapter 70

Zade's Pov I stormed out of the basement, my fists still clenched, my jaw tight. Caspian’s words kept ringing in my head, each one cutting deeper than I wanted to admit.“You already lost.”The bastard.Draven walked beside me, calm as ever, but I could see the way his eyes flicked toward me. He knew I was furious. He always knew.We marched through the hall, the stone walls echoing with the sound of our boots. I wanted to hit something. Break something. Crush someone until their bones snapped under my hands.Lucky for me, we had someone to use.We reached the room where Kyle was being held. My men were already inside, their laughter filling the air, mixed with the sound of flesh being torn, the smell of blood thick and sharp.I stepped in, and the sight hit me like a drug.Kyle was tied to a chair, his head hanging low, his shirt long gone, his chest covered in blood and bruises. His lips were swollen, one eye nearly shut, and his breathing came in shallow gasps. My men were taking
