Chapter 69.SLIGHT PANIC.Clary's POV.I couldn't tell exactly what it was, but I knew that something fell to the ground. I righted myself from the couch, and swept my eyes all over the place. For one, Eric had mentioned that he had his eyes on those who were close to me. Perhaps that was him trying to tell me that he could hurt me if I didn't do exactly as he had said, and within the time frame of three days which he gave to me. Meanwhile, Hayley refused to say a word even after I called her earlier to be sure that she was okay. Scared that something might have happened to her, I quickly rushed to the shower room.But as I arrived, the place was dead quiet; the shower wasn't running. My skin crawled with sparks of dread. “Hayley, are you in there?” I asked, knocking on the door. “Hayley, can you hear me?” Still, there was no response. As I stood there, trying to figure out what to do next, I felt my entire body vibrating to the thump of my heart, and that made me feel breathless.
