Nora's POVI kept thinking of Jeremy's confession in the taxi. “Did he really mean it? Or he just said it to manipulate me??” “This is your location, Miss.” The taxi driver said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I alighted from the taxi, I looked around and noticed that the taxi that I boarded was the only taxi that drove on the road. No single soul was seen around.I walked down the road as directed by the anonymous texter. I walked slowly, past a lot of tall trees. Every step on the dry gravel sounded too loud in silence. I could hear the cool breeze whisper its sweet melodies to me. The place was eerily quiet, I began to rethink my decision of coming to a place nobody knew about. The sweet melodies of the cool breeze began to sound like noise in my ears. Goosebumps grew on my skin as I drew closer to the house that looked like an abandoned building. It looked like something out of a forgotten memory, the windows were broken and the porch looked sagged, like the building was fight

Jeremy’s POV‘BEVERLY HILLS.’ Rex was definitely the mastermind behind this.It was supposed to be my property but my father handed it over to Rex on the condition that he took responsibility for the failure of my first deal in Toronto which made me return to California.Rex had always had eyes on that property. Now that he had it, he abandoned it for years just to take my woman to that ragged place.I was so close to the address when I bumped into Rex’s car. Smoke oozed out of the engine but I couldn't care less. I just wanted to see Nora.I rushed to the backseat and she could barely breath. Her mouth was stuffed with a handkerchief, her hands tied and her pretty face battered. She was suffocating.I lifted her in my arms and laid her on the grass, untied her and brushed her hair behind her ears.“I'm here now.” I assured her. Tears formed in her eyes. Her fair skin was red. I couldn't take it.I pulled Rex out of his car and pounced on him. “How dare you do this to her?! How dare y

Jeremy’s POVI knew I loved this woman. I had always loved her but I can’t even show her and she won’t even believe that I yearn for her. I paced around my office as I flipped my pen in between my fingers. The sun was beginning to set and the birds were returning to their nest.It kept ringing in my head. “Who is coming for Nora?” I have so many enemies because of the work I do but none of these people know about Nora except Rex who has been caught. I have been trying to keep her away from them but I guess I didn’t try enough.“Jeremy! Jeremy!! Let me out, I promise to be your good girl. You can do whatever you want with me and I promise that I won’t ask questions.” If I was sure that was Nora yelling from the room I locked her in. I moved closer to be sure. I didn’t know if she was serious but I wanted to hear her out. I hurried to the door and yanked it open.“What did you say?” I needed to hear her one more time.“I would be your good girl, I promise. Just let me out of this hellhol

Nora’s POVWhile Jeremy spoke to whoever on the phone, I tried figuring out how to stay still in the little compartment where I hid. I peeped out from a little hole and saw him pacing around the room.“Where are you, Noey?” He repeated again and again. All of a sudden, my phone rang, I nearly jumped out of my skin. It was so loud that I assumed it was with me.Gosh! I was fucked.I checked my pocket but it wasn't there, it was probably in my room. I had gotten so scared, I didn't need Jeremy to find me up here in his study and lock me up in that room for the second time.Jeremy rushed to my room. I then used that opportunity to sneak out of his study and headed towards the torture room so it would seem like I had been there this whole time.“Where have you been?” He questioned me from behind.I turned swiftly, “I am searching for my phone, I went to check that room to see if I left it behind.” I avoided his eyes.“Here is your phone, it was in your room.” He walked slowly towards me,

Nora's POVMy heart skipped two beats.Since college?I know he professed his sudden undying love for me immediately we met. But…He has loved me since college??“I know what you are playing at Jeremy and I refuse to be your pawn once again. You are trying to manipulate me and I won't let that happen.” He smirked, then let out a heavy sigh.“Nora. Trust me, You don’t want to see my dark side. I claimed you a long time ago. You are mine whether you like it or not. Okay?” He said in a calm voice like he was trying to suppress the frustration within him.His eyes darkened, It freaked me out. I had to come back to my senses so as not to ruin my scheme to get revenge. “I should not run my mouth for now.” I said within me.I succeeded in turning him against Madison, it seems I am up to a good start.“Thank you for loving me.” I replied. Over my dead body should I proclaim that I love this man.He raised an eyebrow.“Pack you bags, we are leaving.” “Leaving? Where??”“I just started living
